Jaguars placed S Zedrick Woods on the reserve/retired list.
An undrafted free agent, Woods made noise at the Combine by blazing a 4.29 40-yard dash, the fastest of any player. He nevertheless did not hear his name called on draft weekend and evidently did not like his odds of cracking the Jags’ 53-man roster. An in-the-box safety, Woods appeared to be too stiff-hipped to find success in the secondary.

Ole Miss S Zedrick Woods posted the fastest 40-yard dash of the Combine, blazing a 4.29 on Monday.
An in-the-box safety, Woods’ eye-popping time was considered a surprise. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has pegged Woods as a stiff-hipped DB who struggles in coverage. That kind of speed will always get a player a second look, but Woods is a day-three prospect. The fastest players (4.32) at last year’s Combine were CBs Denzel Ward, Donte Jackson and Parry Nickerson. Although Ward and Jackson were early picks, Nickerson fell to the sixth round.
