Ole Miss S Zedrick Woods posted the fastest 40-yard dash of the Combine, blazing a 4.29 on Monday.
An in-the-box safety, Woods’ eye-popping time was considered a surprise. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has pegged Woods as a stiff-hipped DB who struggles in coverage. That kind of speed will always get a player a second look, but Woods is a day-three prospect. The fastest players (4.32) at last year’s Combine were CBs Denzel Ward, Donte Jackson and Parry Nickerson. Although Ward and Jackson were early picks, Nickerson fell to the sixth round.
