Cowboys signed CB Xavier Rhodes to the practice squad.
Rhodes was released from Buffalo after he was limited to two games (one start) this season. Dallas is a good landing spot for Rhodes with CBs Anthony Brown and Jourdan Lewis out for the year. Rhodes won’t be active in Week 18 but could be added to the Cowboys’ playoff roster.

    Bills released CB Xavier Rhodes.
The Bills signed safety Jared Mayden from the NY Jets practice squad in a corresponding move. Rhodes only took the field two times for the Bills, with his most recent appearance coming in Week 13. He will look to latch on with a new team next season if no one takes a flyer on him in the playoffs. Now 32 years old and looking for his third team in as many seasons, Rhodes is nothing more than a depth option at this point in his career.

  • FA Defensive Back #29
Bills declared DB Xavier Rhodes, S Dean Marlowe, LB Baylon Spector, OL Ryan Bates, TE Tommy Sweeney, and DT Jordan Phillips inactive for Week 15 against the Dolphins.
  • FA Defensive Back #29
Bills signed CB Xavier Rhodes and WR John Brown from the practice.
The team placed CB Christian Benford on injured reserve in an associated move. Benford had been listed “week to week” with an oblique injury but will now miss the minimum four games. John Brown returns to the team as wide receiver depth.

Xavier Rhodes (hamstring) is out for Week 4 against the Ravens.
Rhodes recently signed with the Bills after a series of secondary injuries. He won’t suit up this week against Baltimore in what should be a back-and-forth contest between two high-powered passing offenses.

Free agent CB Xavier Rhodes is visiting with the Bills.
Buffalo has suffered a series of devastating secondary injuries in the season’s first month, leaving them needy on the backend. In his eighth NFL season, Rhodes started 29 games for the Colts in 2020 and 2021. He had three interceptions over those two seasons. He could immediately play heavy snaps in Buffalo if the Bills sign him this week.

  • FA Defensive Back #29
Colts CB Xavier Rhodes was forced from Indianapolis’ Week 17 game against the Raiders with a right hamstring injury and will not return.
Rhodes had to be helped off the field and was quickly ruled out. That bodes poorly for his odds of returning for Week 18, as well as a potential Wild Card game. The former Viking has been an every-down player this season, if not a particularly good one.

Colts coach Frank Reich said that CB Xavier Rhodes and S Andrew Sendejo are in the NFL concussion protocol.
Both players suffered their injuries on Monday Night Football against the Ravens. Rhodes and Sendejo will have to pass through the league’s concussion protocol to play in Week 6. The Colts’ secondary would take a hit without them, although they might not need a lot to stop Davis Mills and the Houston aerial attack on Sunday.

Colts CB Xavier Rhodes (calf) is out for Week 2 against the Rams.
Indy’s top corner missed Week 1 against the Seahawks, and both DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett went wild with touchdowns. Things don’t get any easier this time around with Matthew Stafford, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp on deck for the Rams.

  • FA Defensive Back #29
Colts CB Xavier Rhodes (calf) remained sidelined for Wednesday’s practice.
Rhodes, Indianapolis’ top corner, could only watch from the sidelines in Week 1 as Russell Wilson dropped back with ease and scorched the team’s secondary for 11 YPA. The Colts are again in for a world of hurt if Rhodes can’t make it back for Sunday’s matchup against the Rams, which averaged a league-high 12.3 YPA against Chicago on Sunday night.
