Green, the 32nd overall pick in last month’s draft, played 27 minutes in the Mystics’ two preseason games. While the rookie guard dished out four assists in a May 7 loss to the Dream, she could not do enough to stick on the Mystics’ roster. And that’s despite the Mystics losing first-round pick Georgia Amoore to a torn ACL on the first day of training camp. Once she clears waivers, Green can sign with any team as a free agent.

With the WNBA’s roster cut down date looming, the Mystics opted to bring another shooting guard into training camp on a rookie-scale contract. It probably helped that Washington shot 3-of-19 from three in yesterday’s 80-70 preseason loss to the Atlanta Dream. Jensen, who went undrafted last month, shot 51.5 percent from the field, including 36.2 percent from three on six attempts per game, during her final college season at Creighton. The Mystics will have to finalize their roster by May 15, and Jensen will look to fight for a spot alongside fellow rookie guards Zaay Green and Lucy Olsen.

Having only played nine minutes in Washington’s preseason opener, Green’s playing time doubled on Wednesday. The 32nd overall pick in last month’s draft, the former Alabama standout still faces long odds to make the final roster. However, the Mystics losing first-round pick Georgia Amoore for the season with a torn ACL may boost Green’s chances of making the final roster. She dished out a team-high four assists on Wednesday while only committing one turnover. Jade Melbourne (6/2/1/2 in 22 minutes) received the starting nod, while Sug Sutton (4/4/3/1 in 22 minutes) joined Green with the second unit. Sutton started Washington’s May 3 overtime loss to the Fever.

The 6-foot-2 Green played for four programs during her seven college basketball seasons, most recently appearing in 33 games for Alabama in 2024-25. Shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 65.4 percent from the foul line, she averaged 15.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.6 three-pointers in 31.6 minutes. While she’s an older player, joining a rebuilding Mystics squad may increase Green’s chances of sticking in the WNBA this season.
