Li Yueru amassed 12 points (1-of-5 FGs, 10-of-12 FTs), 11 rebounds and one steal in Thursday’s win over the Mercury.
While Li did not shoot the ball well from the field, she made up for it with a busy night at the foul line. Dallas’ superior size was an issue for the visiting Mercury, with the Wings finishing Thursday’s win with an offensive rebounding percentage of 29.6 percent and a defensive rebounding percentage of 81.1 percent. Li, who recorded her second double-double of the season, was one of the catalysts on the glass for the Wings, who have won two straight and three of their last four games. Li played 24 minutes on Thursday with Teaira McCowan serving as her backup; that’s enough time for the starter to provide solid fantasy value.
  • Myisha Hines-Allen accumulated 13 points (5-of-7 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), six rebounds, five assists, three steals and one blocked shot in Saturday’s win over the Mystics.
Saturday’s performance was Hines-Allen’s best since being moved to the bench ahead of Dallas’ June 24 win over the Dream. Having totaled 17 points in the two games prior, the veteran forward’s tally against the Mystics was one shy of her season-high. Hines-Allen matched her season-high in steals and provided solid value in the rebound and assist categories. Li Yueru remains the starter and finished Saturday’s win with four points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one blocked shot in 19 minutes. Li remains the superior fantasy option for now, but that may change when Teaira McCowan and Luisa Geiselsöder rejoin the team next week after playing in EuroBasket.

Li Yueru finished Tuesday’s win over the Dream with 10 points (4-of-9 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 15 rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Li made her first start since being traded to Dallas, and Tuesday’s effort may keep her in that role for the foreseeable future. The 15 rebounds were a career-high for the 6-foot-7 center, who recorded her second double-double. While Li did not provide any defensive statistics, her presence was a key factor in why Dallas held Atlanta to 23.4 percent shooting from the field. NaLyssa Smith (four points, four rebounds, one steal and three blocks) was effective defensively, while Myisha Hines-Allen (8/4/1/1) hit two three-pointers off the bench. Wings coach Chris Koclanes will have some choices to make once Luisa Geiselsöder and Teaira McCowan return from EuroBasket, but it’s going to be difficult for him to decrease Li’s playing time.

Paige Bueckers, Arike Ogunbowale, Kaila Charles, NaLyssa Smith and Li Yueru will start Tuesday’s game against the Dream.
The Wings have made two changes to their starting lineup for Tuesday’s game. Charles steps in for rookie Aziaha James, who started Dallas’ last three games. The other change is Li replacing Myisha Hines-Allen, with the former Seattle center having played well since being acquired via trade on June 14. While this won’t be an easy matchup for Li, moving to Dallas has given her the opportunity that she desired before the trade.

Li Yueru accumulated 11 points (2-of-6 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), nine rebounds, three assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Friday’s win over the Sun.
It’s only been two games, but it’s pretty clear that Li is getting the playing time she hoped for after being traded to Dallas. After logging 13 minutes in her Wings debut on Tuesday, the 6-foot-7 center played 24 on Friday and was part of the team’s closing lineup. Meanwhile, starters Myisha Hines-Allen and NaLyssa Smith played 18 and 17 minutes, respectively, with Li being the lone post on the floor in crunch time. While Friday’s performance may not be enough to convince most fantasy managers to add Li, she’s worth tracking, especially as the Wings continue to play without Teaira McCowan and Luisa Geiselsöder, who are both competing in FIBA Women’s EuroBasket.

Li Yueru finished Tuesday’s Commissioner’s Cup win over the Valkyries with two points (1-of-3 FGs), two rebounds and two assists.
Acquired from the Storm on June 14, Li made her Wings debut Tuesday night. While she did not have much of an impact on the stat sheet, she logged 13 minutes. By comparison, Li hit double digits in minutes just three times in her nine games with Seattle. Dallas not having Teaira McCowan and Luisa Geiselsöder due to national team commitments should ensure Li of more playing time than she received as a member of the Storm. There’s no need to add her to fantasy league rosters right now, but Li is worth tracking.
  • The Wings have temporarily suspended Luisa Geiselsöder (EuroBasket).
Geiselsöder is not in any trouble. With the Wings center competing for Germany in the upcoming FIBA Women’s EuroBasket tournament, she has been temporarily suspended. This allows Dallas to free up a roster spot without having to waive Geiselsöder, which can be used to sign a player on a short-term deal. With Teaira McCowan (Turkey) also competing in EuroBasket, the Wings addressed their need for frontcourt depth by acquiring Li Yueru from the Storm. A roster spot for her was freed up by the team waiving Kaila Charles before the trade was completed.

Li Yueru was acquired by the Dallas Wings on Saturday in a trade with the Seattle Storm.
After requesting a trade in early June, Yueru’s wishes were granted on Saturday when the Storm dealt her to the Wings via trade. In exchange for the center, Seattle received two future draft selections — Dallas’ 2026 second-round pick (includes the right to swap with Connecticut), and Dallas’ 2027 third-round pick (includes the right to swap with Indiana). In Yueru, the Wings receive size at the center position after seeing some of their frontcourt depth recently depart for EuroBasket. Yueru is averaging 2.8 points and 1.6 rebounds per game in nine appearances this season.

As first reported by iHeart Women’s Sports’ Khristina Williams, Li Yueru has requested to be traded from the Storm.
After logging just over 14 minutes per game with the Sparks in 2024, Li has played even less in her first season in Seattle. The 6-foot-7 center is averaging 9.1 minutes in eight appearances, most recently playing six minutes in Tuesday’s win over the Wings. Interestingly, the draft pick sent to Seattle along with Li as part of the six-team deal headlined by Jewell Loyd and Kelsey Plum would be used to select Dominique Malonga in April’s draft. Unfortunately for the third-year WNBA veteran from China, there does not appear to be a clear path to additional playing time in Seattle, especially with Malonga, Nneka Ogwumike and Ezi Magbegor also in the frontcourt rotation.
  • Teaira McCowan contributed 10 points (4-of-7 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), nine rebounds and one assist, one steal and three blocks off the bench in 15 minutes of play during Monday’s loss to the Storm.
While McCowan is the Wings’ least versatile big, she played a much more productive role than starters NaLyssa Smith and Myisha Hines-Allen. When the Wings were struggling to get early offense in the first quarter, McCowan stepped up and took advantage of the mismatches she had inside. While both she and Storm backup center Li Yueru are around the same height, McCowan is much stronger and found a way to muscle her way to the basket. McCowan played well alongside Maddy Siegrist, who is more a natural stretch power forward and can actually provide spacing.
