Magbegor had a season-high scoring performance against the Mystics, despite the output coming in a loss. In this rough offensive showing for the Storm, which scored only 69 points on 36.2 percent shooting, the sixth-year center was the only starter to shoot above 50 percent from the field. Magbegor has now reached double figures in scoring in four straight games and appears to be in a nice rhythm on the offensive end. She’s been productive in fantasy leagues as of late, and on Wednesday, she could extend her streak of double-digit scoring games to five against the Valkyries.

Magbegor is in one of her best offensive stretches of the season. In tying a season-high in points on Friday, the sixth-year center has now logged three straight games of at least 13 points and is shooting 62.5 percent from the field over that stretch to become the latest reliable scoring option for Seattle. The Storm will face the Mystics on Sunday and Magbegor will have an opportunity to extend her streak of double-digit scoring performances to four.

The Storm went to Magbegor early in the first quarter, where she hit four of her five made field goals. Skylar Diggins made sure to find the cutting Magbegor on the move as the Sun defense was paying most of their attention to Nneka Ogwumike. In addition to Magbegor’s excellent off-ball movement, she flashed her face-up game as a driver. When the Storm were struggling to score in the fourth, Seattle tried to get some production from Magbegor. But she was stuffed by both Tina Charles and Olivia Nelson-Ododa.

Two weeks removed from blocking five shots in a win over the Wings, Magbegor established a new season-high on Tuesday. The six rejections were two shy of her career-high, making up for a quiet night offensively. Also, Magbegor matched her season-high with five assists. Her streak of consecutive double-digit scoring efforts ended at two, but the Storm center is relied on more for her defense due to the established scorers in the team’s rotation. Seattle continues its road trip with a game against the Aces on Friday.

For the first time this season, Magbegor has scored in double figures in consecutive games. She filled the stat sheet against the Valkyries, doing everything but make a three-pointer in the 76-70 defeat. While Magbegor has recorded at least one blocked shot in all 11 games she’s appeared in, the Storm center has taken things to another level recently. Ezi has blocked 13 shots in her last four appearances, a run that began with a five-block effort in a June 3 win over Dallas. She’ll look to extend that streak when Seattle visits Los Angeles on Tuesday.

An issue for the Storm so far this season has been involving Magbegor in their offense, a 25 year-old player who Seattle has claimed is their future. With Nneka Ogwumike acting as the Storm’s de facto number one option who is involved in the main actions with Skylar Diggins, it’s been difficult for Magbegor to find her offense. With the Lynx keying in on both Ogwumike and Diggins, Magbegor found her offense moving off the ball and cutting to the basket. She often got rewarded for her off-ball movement. Defensively, Magbegor defended MVP front-runner Napheesa Collier as well as she could using her length to obstruct Collier’s view.

In the Lynx’s first loss of the 2025 season, Collier shot 39 percent from the field, her second lowest clip of the season since the Lynx also faced the Storm in their 82-77 win over Seattle last month. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Collier had a less efficient than usual outing when Seattle has a WNBA All-Defensive front court anchored by Ezi Magbegor and Nneka Ogwumike. While it wasn’t Collier’s best performance, she made some history on Wednesday night. She surpassed 3,000 career points and in addition to passing Katie Smith for fourth on the Lynx’s all-time assist lists with 497.

Despite Malonga being viewed by some as the player with the highest upside in the 2025 draft class, the Storm have been intentional about not forcing the issue with her. However, after scoring two points in each of her first three appearances, the rookie forward continues to make strides. On Sunday, Malonga matched her season-high in points while playing 13 minutes, playing the entire fourth quarter while starter Ezi Magbegor (7/9/2/0/1) remained on the bench. Seattle was unable to complete its rally, but the rookie was a solid contributor down the stretch. Malonga may not be much of a fantasy asset in the short term, but she remains a highly valuable player to have rostered in dynasty leagues.

Fantasy managers have something to be optimistic about as Ezi Magbegor had by far her strongest game of the season in the victory over the Aces. Magbegor’s breakthrough performance saw her score in double figures for the first time all season while making her usual contributions on the glass. The sixth-year pro also contributed a few assists and collected a block. On the heels of Magbegor’s slow start to the season, there’s potential that her performance today could have her trending in the right direction. She’ll have a chance to string together back-to-back productive games on Tuesday as the Storm look to hand the Lynx their first loss of the season.
