6dAzurá Stevens totaled 21 points (7-of-17 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), 11 rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and five three-pointers on Sunday in the Sparks’ win over the Sun.

Stevens continues to perform as one of the most versatile two-way centers in the WNBA. On Sunday, she showed up all throughout the stat sheet and needed just 27 minutes of game action to secure her seventh double-double of the season. The veteran center’s prowess as a floor spacer was on full display today, as she tied a season high in three-pointers while making her usual impact as a defender. Stevens was one of the notable players not selected as a WNBA All-Star this season, but it doesn’t appear that the snub is impacting her play in a negative way.

13dDearica Hamby accumulated 18 points (7-of-11 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), three rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one three-pointer during Saturday night’s 89-87 win over the Fever in 32 minutes of play.

Hamby has shot over 60% from the field in three straight games now as she continues to make an All-Star case for herself. Hamby was excellent finding seals in the paint against the Fever defense while also moving off the ball. She was incredibly aware of where her front court teammates were throughout the game. Her four assists were to both Azurá Stevens and Rickea Jackson as she found both moving off the ball. She helped create Rickea Jackson’s and-one score that got the Sparks within one point with 1:31 left in regulation.

14dAzurá Stevens amassed 21 points (7-of-14 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), 12 rebounds, two assists, and three three-pointers during Saturday night’s 89-87 win to the Fever in 29 minutes of play.

Stevens led the scoring charge early putting 7 points on the board in the first quarter while Kelsey Plum continued to struggle to find her shot. Stevens used her length to shoot over Indiana’s defenders, often hitting late shot clock threes. She continues to develop chemistry with her front court partner Dearica Hamby, as both players made two assists each to each other especially on high-low actions. Stevens came up with a monster rebound with 3.5 seconds left in regulation after the Fever missed two shots. The Fever fouled her and she made one of two free throws to put the Sparks up by two points to seal the victory.

Stevens added another well-rounded performance on Thursday. Her most notable contributions came on the defensive end, where she led all players in blocked shots while tying a season-high in that area. The veteran forward was also productive on the offensive end. She reached double figures as a scorer for the sixth straight game and also equaled a season-best in assists. Although her box score doesn’t stand out in a major way, Stevens had an effective showing against New York and continues to be a productive player in fantasy basketball leagues.

Stevens had herself another balanced performance on Sunday, stuffing the stat sheet in just 26 minutes of game action. She nearly logged 20 points, secured a trio of blocks and three-pointers, and tied a season-high in assists along the way. Stevens finished with a game-worst minus-19, making her impact for the Sparks, at best, questionable. Nevertheless, her final stat line on Sunday was beneficial as it relates to fantasy basketball.

Stevens remained in a groove on the offensive end on Thursday, tallying back-to-back 20-point games for the second time this season. Her big night was punctuated by a late offensive-rebounded free throw that she turned into an and-one to give the Sparks enough wiggle room to cruise down the stretch to a 10-point win. Stevens is averaging 17.8 points and 8.3 rebounds over the last four games. Her stock is trending up in fantasy leagues.

24dDearica Hamby posted 15 points (6-of-14 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and two blocks during Tuesday night’s 97-86 loss to the Sky in 33 minutes of play.

Hamby had her way with Kamilla Cardoso at the rim, driving and scoring often while attacking the Sky’s 6'7 center. But when backup center Elizabeth Williams — a two-time WNBA All-Defensive Team selection — checked in, Hamby’s looks at the rim became much tougher. The irony here was that Hamby’s most open looks, her three shots from deep, didn’t fall. Cardoso was late to each closeout on the perimeter, but Hamby just missed each one. Like Rickea Jackson, Hamby made sure she was playmaking at a high level as she found Azurá Stevens on two of her four threes in addition to finding Jackson for two of her made shots.

Stevens made her first eight shots which included four three pointers made. The Chicago Sky defense was slow to contest Stevens who stands tall at 6'6 with a 6'10 wingspan. Stevens was responsible for 54.2 percent of the Sparks’ total points in the first quarter. But once Steven’s hot shooting streak ended in the fourth quarter, she didn’t hit another three or score another point. The Sparks only scored 17 points to the Sky’s 30 in that final frame.

28dAzurá Steveans accumulated 11 points (4-of-9 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), nine rebounds, three assists, one steal, two blocks and two three-pointers in Saturday’s loss to the Lynx.

Having attempted just three shots in Los Angeles’s loss to Minnesota on June 14, Stevens was a more active contributor for the Sparks in Saturday’s rematch. She’s scored in double figures in four of her seven appearances in June, and Stevens finished Saturday’s defeat with her first complete stat line since June 6 against Dallas. And she isn’t a player who needs to score points to have an impact in fantasy basketball. In ESPN leagues, Stevens has recorded at least 30 fantasy points in five of her last six appearances.

1moAzurá Stevens finished Tuesday’s Commissioner’s Cup loss to the Storm with 16 points (6-of-16 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), 10 rebounds, one assist, three steals and one blocked shot.

On what was a rough night for Stevens and the Sparks, the forward/center recorded her fifth double-double of the season. However, since shooting 47.6 percent from three in her first six games, Stevens has hit a cold spell from deep. Over her last seven, she’s just 7-of-30 from deep, and that includes a 5-of-8 effort against the Wings on June 6. Stevens is a career 34 percent shooter from three, so she was likely due to cool off after a hot start to the season. However, with the Sparks currently without four rotation players, they need her to get back on track. And soon.
