  • FA Defensive Back #33
    Giants signed S Will Hill.
Hill was apparently humbled by going undrafted in 2011, then spending a year in the Arena League. The Giants felt comfortable enough with his character to keep Hill around for another look. He’s still a long shot for the final 53.
  • FA Defensive Back #33
Free agent S Will Hill is participating at Giants rookie minicamp.
The Giants have a contingent of fairly well-known players on hand, including former Steelers WR Limas Sweed and Eagles C Jamaal Jackson. Hill was a five-star high school recruit whose knuckleheaded ways contributed to a huge slippage in draft stock last offseason. Hill spent the year in the Arena League.
  • FA Defensive Back #33
SI.com’s Tony Pauline reports free agent S Will Hill is “hoping to make a comeback,” and the Jets and Giants are “showing interest.”
Hill would be “coming back” from going undrafted last year and drawing zero interest after the lockout. Hill forwent his senior season at the University of Florida only to see his draft stock nuked by a disastrous Combine and the discovery of his cartoonishly juvenile Twitter account. Hill routinely tweeted about smoking marijuana, his bathroom habits and sexual exploits. A stiff-hipped character nightmare who largely underachieved in college after being a five-star recruit, it would be a miracle if Hill ever steps foot on an NFL field.
  • FA Defensive Back #33
Giants activated S Will Hill from the reserve/suspended list.
Hill was suspended for testing positive for the ever-increasingly popular Adderall. Cornerback Michael Coe (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Hill will step back into a reserve role.
  • FA Defensive Back #33
Giants S Will Hill has been suspended four games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Hill has adopted the hot new PED excuse, claiming his positive test was triggered by the prescription-drug Adderall. Regardless of what Hill tested positive for, he was a character nightmare before foregoing his senior year at Florida in 2011, and couldn’t get so much as an NFL workout before the Giants took him on in May. Seeing time at both corner and safety, Hill will be eligible to return in Week 10.
  • FA Defensive Back #33
NFL suspended Giants S Will Hill four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
He tested positive for marijuana. Hill was suspended four games last season for violating the league’s policy on PEDs, but this one is for substance abuse. He’s competing to be the Giants’ No. 4 safety and will be eligible to return in Week 5 against the Eagles. In all likelihood, GM Jerry Reese will strongly considering severing ties with Hill, who went undrafted out of Florida in 2011 due to severe off-field red flags.
  • FA Defensive Back #33
Giants FS Will Hill was arrested Friday night on a warrant related to child support.
The Giants are calling the incident a “personal matter.” Hill made the trip to Detroit with the team on Saturday and is still expected to start against the Lions.
  • FA Defensive Back #33
ESPN Giants blogger Dan Graziano writes the team “really believes they have a good player” in S Will Hill.
Hill has come a long way. Nobody has ever doubted his talent. He was a five-star recruit when he committed to Florida. Hill then had numerous off-field issues and went undrafted in 2011. He’s served two separate four-game suspensions in the NFL. But he’s showed up on the field in 2013, grading out as Pro Football Focus’ No. 7 overall safety. Hill has been one of the lone bright spots for the G-Men and could make Antrel Rolle expendable in the offseason.

Giants FS Will Hill could face a third drug suspension in as many seasons during 2014.
Hill was arrested on December 20 on a warrant related to being more than $9,000 behind on child support. The Newark-Star Ledger was recently informed that officers detected a strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle Hill was driving. Hill has served two separate four-game suspensions since he entered the league. The next, we believe, would be an eight-game ban. Some believe the Giants could release Hill, even after he had a breakout season in 2013.
  • FA Defensive Back #33
Free agent S Will Hill’s 10-game suspension for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy has ended.
Still somehow only 26, Hill is an extremely talented player, but hasn’t been able to stay off the suspended list. He’s going to have to convince teams he’s changed to get a fourth, fifth or whatever chance he’s on now.
