  • LAL Shooting Guard #15
Austin Reaves recorded his first ever triple-double and posted career bests across the board with his 31 points (7-of-17 FGs, 14-of-14 FTs), 16 boards and 10 dimes, adding two steals, one block and three triples in Sunday’s OT win over the Nuggets.
Just as we all drew it up, right? Reaves joins Lonzo Ball, Magic Johnson, Jerry West and Elgin Baylor as one of five Laker rookies to ever notch a 3x2, and he’s the fourth rookie ever to go 30/15/10 in a single game (Oscar Robertson, Blake Griffin, Jerry West). Though quite far from the fantasy radar, Reaves was one of the only promising real-life pieces of what ended up being an abysmal Lakers team, and he’ll figure to have some sort of role next season even once this team is at full strength again. However, unless the Lakers ship most of their wings out by the time next season comes around, Reaves’ irrelevance in fantasy leagues will likely remain, but he’s at least worth keeping an eye on after four straight double-digit scoring outputs to end the season and especially after tonight’s outburst. Wenyen Gabriel double-doubled for the first time in his career with 14 points, 10 boards, three dimes and two blocks and Wayne Ellington scored 18 points with four triples off the bench.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #2
Wayne Ellington (illness) will be available to play on Monday vs. the Cavs.
Ellington is little more than a low-end, 3-point specialist in 18-team leagues.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #2
Wayne Ellington (non-COVID illness) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Ellington doesn’t offer much in the way of fantasy value when healthy, so his availability will not have an impact.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #2
Wayne Ellington (non-COVID illness) will not suit up for Saturday’s game against the Wizards.
Ellington will miss his second straight game with the illness, and guys like Carmelo Anthony and Talen Horton-Tucker, who have both officially been ruled in, figure to see a few more touches with Ellington in street clothes.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #2
Wayne Ellington is questionable for Saturday’s matchup with the Wizards due to a non-COVID illness.
Ellington’s status won’t move the needle for fantasy purposes. No need to worry about his availability.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #2
Wayne Ellington (non-COVID illness) has been ruled out of Friday’s game against the Raptors.
He just got back into the rotation but hasn’t done much besides hit some threes. He’s a non-factor in fantasy hoops.

  • NBA Power Forward #7
Carmelo Anthony (non-COVID illness) and Talen Horton-Tucker (left ankle sprain) will both be sidelined for Friday’s game against the Raptors.
THT was on the original injury report as questionable and has been officially ruled out, but Melo along with Wayne Ellington are both dealing with illnesses and were just announced as out minutes ago. If LeBron James (knee) plays, the Lakers may have a slim chance, but missing so many weapons against a team that very recently blew you out isn’t ideal. Malik Monk stands to see a ton of shots with this trio out.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #2
The Lakers will start Russell Westbrook, Avery Bradley, Wayne Ellington, Stanley Johnson and DeAndre Jordan for Friday’s matchup with the Hornets.
This is a brand new starting lineup, and it doesn’t take a fantasy guru to know which of these guys will have the highest usage by a massive margin. Brodie will obviously feast, while Stanley Johnson and reserve Carmelo Anthony will likely fare the best out of this crew.

  • CHI Shooting Guard #5
Talen Horton-Tucker hit 5-of-10 shots for 13 points, two rebounds, one assist, three triples and one block in 19 minutes off the bench on Sunday.
THT was one of just four Laker players to reach double figures in the scoring department tonight, joining LeBron James (35), Wayne Ellington (16) and Austin Reaves (16), but unfortunately, he also ended his evening with four turnovers. However, TOs typically aren’t much of an issue for THT, and he has been in a nice rhythm offensively over the past three, so he’s on the radar in deep leagues. Just know that the Lakers only play twice next week.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #2
Wayne Ellington (non-COVID illness) didn’t travel with the Lakers to Houston and is listed as out Tuesday, per Dave McMenamin.
Ellington has played decent minutes for the Lakers recently, but hasn’t provided much fantasy value. This update won’t affect many fantasy lineups.
