Former Louisville and current Alabama redshirt junior WR Tyler Harrell led the ACC in yards per reception last season.
The Bama receiving core was depleted after last season, and they picked some players like Harrell via the portal to replenish the stock. Harrell (6'0/194) transferred from Louisville, where he excelled as the downfield receiver for Malik Cunningham. While he only had 18 receptions last year, it accumulated to 523 yards and six touchdowns as he averaged ACC-best 29 yards per catch. He moves to Tuscaloosa to catch for another athletic and mobile quarterback in Bryce Young. Young can scramble out of pocket as good as anyone in the country, giving Harrell time to stretch the field for a big play. Expect plenty of home run connections.

Alabama has received a verbal commitment from redshirt junior WR Tyler Harrell, formerly of Louisville.
Harrell (6'0/194) enjoyed an impressive 2021 with Louisville. Despite catching just 18 passes on the year, Harrell went for 523 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 29.1 yards per reception. With deep threat Jameson Williams heading to the NFL, Harrell could have a chance to step into the role vacated by Williams, and become a top target of Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young. Harrell is a near lock to set career-highs in 2022 with the Tide assuming he finds a starting role.

Louisville redshirt junior WR Tyler Harrell has entered the transfer portal.
Last season, Harrell (6'0/194) caught 18 passes for 523 yards and six touchdowns while averaging a ridiculous 29.1 yards per reception. Per Pro Football Focus, eight of Harrell’s receptions came on deep passes, which resulted in more than half of his yards and five scores. Harrell was a three-star prospect from the 2018 recruiting class. The Miami, Florida native also drew offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, NIU, Kansas and Purdue during his initial recruiting period.

Louisville redshirt sophomore WR Tyler Harrell caught four passes for 80 yards and a touchdown in a 31-28 loss to Air Force on Tuesday.
Harrell The Cardinals tried to get the ball to Harrell early and often via the deep ball. They weren’t able to connect, as Cunningham was out of sync early in the game. They were finally able to connect on a 34-yard post route for a touchdown at the end of the third quarter. After that, he only snagged one catch for eight yards. If he and Cunningham had gotten in sync earlier, this game could have been much different. On the season, Harrell finished with 18 receptions for 523 yards and six touchdowns.

Louisville redshirt sophomore wide receiver Tyler Harrell caught two passes for 63 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 31-23 win over Florida State.
Harrell (6'0/194) didn’t have the biggest day through the air, but he got things started for the Cardinals when he hauled in his first pass for a 59-yard touchdown to put them up 7-0 early. It was by far Harrell’s biggest day, as he’s been serving mainly a complementary role on the year. But his touchdown pass from Micale Cunningham deep down the middle was a thing of beauty for his first score on the season. The Cardinals (3-1) look to continue their winning ways in Week 5 against Wake Forest.
