Rams selected Clemson DT Tyler Davis with the No. 196 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The heavily decorated veteran was given All-ACC honors in every non-COVID season of his college career, as well as Second Team All-American honors in 2022 while amassing 155 tackles and 16 sacks. Davis (6'2/301) has an effective club move, but probably needs to expand his repertoire to be an effective rusher. He shows good professionalism and the maturity to maintain his play leverage while utilizing a fundamentally sound peek. Davis’s big body but average athletic testing (76th% RAS) reflect his abilities on the field. He is a bit undersized to play the one tech, although that is probably his best fit. When engaged with blockers he has an effective anchor that is most apparent against inside zone. Nevertheless, what Davis lacks in refinement he makes up for with plus processing for an interior defender, using his instincts to overcome his dearth of block deconstruction. He should shore up the run defense of his NFL team from the three tech spot.

Clemson sophomore DT Tyler Davis (arm) will miss 7-8 weeks following bicep surgery.
Davis (6'2"/300) will miss around two months of the season following surgery on Tuesday to reattach a bicep tendon. Davis has been a key part of a staunch Clemson defense that has not given up a touchdown this season, although he missed the opener against Georgia for COVID-19 protocols. Redshirt sophomore Ruke Orhorhoro and freshman Tre Williams will play in his absence.

  • LAR Defensive End #90
Clemson sophomore DT Tyler Davis (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against Georgia.
Clemson will be down a defensive starter Saturday night, as Davis (6'2/300) is not available due to undisclosed reasons. The sophomore defensive lineman, who has been a mainstay up front since joining the Clemson program in 2019, accounted for 17 tackles (5.0 for loss) and two sacks in seven games last season. Davis is one of three players declared out Saturday afternoon, with WR Brannon Spector and OL Mason Trotter being the others.

  • James Skalski
    Clem #47
Clemson redshirt senior LB James Skalski and sophomore DT Tyler Davis have been ruled out of Saturday’s game vs. Syracuse for undisclosed reasons.
The reigning ACC champions will be without two defensive starters for Saturday’s matchup with the Orange, and no reason was given for either absence. Skalski (6'0/240) is a key leader on that side of the football for Clemson, while Davis (6'2/300) has been a stalwart in the middle of the defensive line. Clemson has taken to simply releasing a list of inactives this season, and on this week’s list Skalski and Davis are the most noteworthy names.

  • LAR Defensive End #90
Clemson HC Dabo Swinney said Tuesday that he hopes to have sophomore DL Tyler Davis back for the Tigers’ October 3 game vs. Virginia.
Davis (6'2/300) suffered a sprained MCL during Clemson’s season-opening win over Wake Forest, but the schedule works in his and the Tigers’ favor when it comes to a possible return. He won’t play Saturday against The Citadel, but with Clemson having the following weekend off there’s a chance that Davis will be available for the Virginia game. The sophomore’s absence will free up more reps for young talents such as freshman Bryan Bresee.

  • LAR Defensive End #90
Clemson freshman DL Tyler Davis is expected to receive a bulk of the snaps in place of injured DL Nyles Pinckney in Monday’s College Football Playoff title game against LSU.
Though a freshman and a backup, Davis (6'2/295) has played plenty in 2019. Furthermore, Davis has been quite good when given his chances. Davis has 4.5 sacks on the season, 1.5 of which came in the ACC title game against Virginia. It’s still a tough blow for Clemson to lose Pinckney as the starter, but Davis is about as good of depth as any team could ask for.

Rivals’ Mike Farrell believes Clemson freshman DT Tyler Davis should see “immediate” playing time.
Farrell added that “Out of all the impressive performances during the spring from Clemson early enrollees, it was Davis who established himself as the front-runner.” The former four-star recruit chose Clemson over Ohio State, Miami, and Florida State. With Clemson losing a lot of their defensive line from last season, Davis should be able to make an early impact at Clemson.

Chris Hummer of 247 Sports writes that Clemson freshman DT Tyler Davis has a chance to be an instant impact player for the Tigers.
Hummer also mentions freshmen wideout Joe Ngata and Frank Ladson, and with the ACL injury to Amari Rodgers, their chances of making an impact go up. Hummer mentions that Davis offers “ready-to-play size” (6'1/293) and it’s at a position of need for the Tigers. “Davis, an early enrollee, will have an opportunity to make a quick impression given the defensive tackle depth chart in the spring,” Hummer writes. “Davis ranked as the No. 137 overall player in the 247Sports Composite.” He should at least be in the rotation.

Uncommitted four-star 2019 DT Tyler Davis will be pledging to either Clemson or Florida State.
Davis (6'1/293) has taken official visits to both programs -- FSU on the weekend of Sept. 9, when the Seminoles played Samford, and Clemson this past weekend, for their game against Syracuse. He told 247Sports that an October commitment is likely in the cards. On the outlet’s composite board for the 2019 cycle, Davis slides in at No. 150 overall.

Clemson signed four-star 2019 DT Tyler Davis.
Davis (6'1/293) was down to Clemson and Florida State. Those were his two finalists as of October and he kept to that pared down list up until Wednesday, when the Tigers emerged victorious. The Apopka, Florida, native makes for Clemson’s No. 26 recruit in the 2019 class. Rivals ranks him as the No. 18 defensive tackle prospect for the cycle.
