Browns selected Arizona CB Trevin Wade with the No. 245 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
Wade rebounded from a disastrous junior season with a strong senior campaign that got him back on NFL team’s draft boards. He intercepted 12 passes during his four years at Arizona, but only three came after his sophomore year. At 5'10/192, he’s a finesse player with good ball skills and projects as a nickel corner in the pros.

Browns agreed to terms with seventh-round CB Trevin Wade on a four-year contract.
Short on physical gifts, Wade ran 4.53 at February’s Combine after measuring in at 5-foot-10, 192. Wade has short arms and lacks elite long speed, so he may have to emerge as a strong slot cornerback to carve out an NFL career.
  • FA Defensive Back #24
Browns DC Dick Jauron said CB Dimitri Patterson will “absolutely” be considered for a starting job this season.
Last year’s nickel back, Patterson will push Sheldon Brown at right cornerback. Jauron believes there’s “no reason to doubt” Brown even if he clearly lost a step last season. Buster Skrine and seventh-round rookie Trevin Wade are expected to challenge for dime back duties.
  • FA Defensive Back #49
Browns CB Trevin Wade’s roster spot is in jeopardy.
The Browns drafted Leon McFadden to be their No. 2 cornerback, and Buster Skrine is the favorite to open at nickel back. Wade is a slot corner only and may be waived before final cuts. ESPN Cleveland believes Chris Owens -- yet another slot corner -- would “have to be an absolute bust” to not make the 53.
  • FA Defensive Back #49
Browns released CB Trevin Wade with an injury settlement.
He was dealing with a shoulder injury. The No. 245 pick of last year’s draft, Wade appeared in 13 games as a rookie, making 17 tackles. He graded out negatively over 201 snaps in Pro Football Focus’ ratings.
  • FA Defensive Back #49
Saints re-signed exclusive rights free agent CB Trevin Wade to a one-year, $570,000 contract.
A 2012 seventh-round pick by the Browns, Wade appeared in two games with New Orleans last season, managing one pass breakup. He did record a special teams tackle in the playoffs. The Saints will likely revamp their cornerback corps behind Keenan Lewis this offseason, leaving Wade on the roster bubble.
  • FA Defensive Back #49
    Saints signed CB Trevin Wade.
Wade will take the roster spot of CB Jabari Greer (knee), who is expected to be placed on injured reserve. A seventh-round pick of the Browns in 2012, Wade appeared in 13 games as a rookie, but couldn’t make it past final cuts this season. He’ll serve on special teams for the Saints.
  • FA Defensive Back #49
Saints released CB Trevin Wade and CB Terrence Frederick.
Wade appeared in two games with the Saints last season, and Frederick spent the majority of 2013 on the Browns’ practice squad. Both were always a long shot in New Orleans’ revamped secondary.
