“I decided to retire from the game of football,” Swanson announced in an Instagram post. His full statement can be viewed in the link below. Travis Swanson has been working as the Lions’ first-team center throughout the offseason program.
Swanson was a 14-game starter last season, but the Lions brought in stiff competition in the form of third-round pick Graham Glasgow. The rookie was expected to push Swanson right out of the gate, but Glasgow has been working with the third-team offense. Perhaps that changes in training camp, but as of now Swanson appears to be the favorite to start.
