Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie said the team could have interest in free agent DT Tony McDaniel.
McDaniel was released by the Seahawks on Sunday in a cost-cutting move. The Raiders will be one of at least a few teams interested, especially given their cap space and the presence of former Seattle assistant Ken Norton Jr. as their defensive coordinator.

Dolphins DE Tony McDaniel injured his thumb during Monday’s loss to the Patriots.
McDaniel left in the first half and did not return. Jared Odrick stepped up at the start of the third quarter with a 39-yard interception return that set up a touchdown.

The Palm Beach Post expects RE Cameron Wake to be the biggest beneficiary of DC Kevin Coyle’s pressuring 4-3 scheme.
Wake is “going back home” to his natural position as a Dwight Freeney-style right defensive end. Jared Odrick is shifting to left end while Randy Starks and Tony McDaniels are moving inside to defensive tackle. Third-round rookie Olivier Vernon is expected to contribute immediately as a nickel edge rusher.

Dolphins DT Tony McDaniel ended up undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee several weeks ago.
The injury bothered McDaniel throughout training camp, and he aggravated it versus the Texans in the season opener. McDaniels has felt “awesome” in a pair of limited practices this week and expects to play Sunday versus the Bengals.

    Dolphins re-signed DL Ryan Baker.
Baker has been doing the roster dance with the Dolphins for more than two years now. He’s back now because Tony McDaniel (knee/toes) is hobbled.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #76
Dolphins DE Tony McDaniel left Monday night’s Week 1 game against the Patriots with a hand injury.
He will not return. McDaniel was playing behind Kendall Langford and Jared Odrick on the defensive front. We’ll get an update on the nature and severity of his injury after X-Rays.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #76
Dolphins DE Tony McDaniel (hand) resumed practicing on Tuesday.
McDaniel injured his thumb in the season opener, requiring surgery to aid the recovery process. He’ll return as a rotational player on a deep defensive line.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #76
Dolphins DE Tony McDaniel is expected to be sidelined a couple of weeks with the hand injury that knocked him out of Monday night’s game.
McDaniel reportedly underwent a surgical procedure to aid the recovery process. The rotational end could play with a club over his hand when he returns, but that won’t be until after this week’s game against the Texans. The Fins are deep on the defensive line, so this won’t be a major loss.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #90
Seahawks fifth-round DL Jesse Williams will start off as a three-technique tackle.
Williams played both the five-technique and the nose at Alabama, but the Seahawks need him to help replace Alan Branch. Ideally, Williams will push Tony McDaniel for early-down run-stuffing duties.

Free agent DT Tony McDaniel will visit the Seahawks Thursday.
Despite stealing Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett already, the Seahawks continue to explore pieces for their defensive line. McDaniel, who has been a quality reserve for the Dolphins over the last four seasons, would serve the same role in Seattle. Alan Branch is a free agent that the Seahakws haven’t shown interest in re-signing.
