A former fourth-round pick, Hills can also play both guard and tackle. He appeared in six games for the Colts last season, starting one. We wouldn’t guess he’s a candidate to start, but who knows in Oakland.

Adams was essentially a practice body. The Colts also promoted T Tony Hills from the practice squad. This move suggests the Colts had concerns about their offensive line being too thin for Sunday’s tilt against the Packers.

Jahri Evans just underwent a knee scope and ESPN Saints reporter Mike Triplett suspects Terron Armstead might be banged up as well, necessitating the need for offensive line depth. Hills was cut from the Ravens’ practice squad a few weeks ago.

The deal is reportedly worth $1.45 million with a $304,500 signing bonus. Hills battled injuries throughout his time at Texas, but he has great feet at the base of his 6'6" frame. He was recruited out of high school as a tight end.

New Bills GM Doug Whaley knows Hills well, as he was in Pittsburgh when the Steelers made the former Texans Longhorn a fourth-round pick. Hill is a journeyman tackle. Caldwell has experience at both guard and center.
