Dodgers reassigned DH Stefen Romero, OF Kevin Pillar, RHPs Reyes Moronta, Shane Greene and Yency Almonte, Cs Tomás Telis and Tony Wolters and INF Eddy Alvarez to minor league camp.
Romero was signed as a potential designated hitter option back in February and won’t crack the Dodgers’ Opening Day roster. The only real surprise here is Pillar, who made a serious bid for a spot as a reserve outfielder this spring. He declined to opt-out of his minor league contract over the weekend, so he’ll likely head to Triple-A Oklahoma City to start the season.

  • MLB Catcher #76
Dodgers signed C Tomás Telis to a minor league contract.
Telis spent the entire 2021 campaign at Triple-A St. Paul with the Twins, hitting a robust .296/.340/.418 with 12 round-trippers and five steals across 453 plate appearances. The 30-year-old backstop, who last appeared in the majors with the Marlins back in 2018, will provide the Dodgers with some organizational catching depth entering next season.

  • MLB Catcher #76
Twins returned C Tomas Telis to their alternate training site.
Telis was up for a couple days and didn’t see any action.

  • MLB Catcher #76
Twins selected C Tomas Telis as a replacement player from their alternate training site.
The 29-year-old will join the Twins on Wednesday in place of JT Riddle, who has landed on the COVID-19 injured list. Telis is a career .230/.267/.298 hitter in 122 games at the major league level.

  • MLB Outfielder #23
Twins reassigned OF Keon Broxton, C Tomas Telis, INF Tzu-Wei Lin, INF JT Riddle and OF Rob Refsnyder to minor-league camp.
The Twins’ spring training roster is down to just 30 players with less than a week to go before Opening Day. There aren’t any major surprises in this latest batch of cuts, but the subtraction of numerous versatile bench options like Broxton, Lin, Riddle and Refsnyder, virtually guarantees that utilityman/backup catcher Willians Astudillo will be on the team’s Opening Day roster. It also means that the final roster spot could come down to reserve outfielders Brent Rooker and Kyle Garlick.

  • MLB Catcher #76
Twins re-signed C Tomas Telis to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Telis re-signs with the Twins after playing 2020 on a minor league contract as well. He’ll be insurance for Mitch Garver and Ryan Jeffers this summer.

  • MLB Catcher #76
Twins re-signed C Tomas Telis to a minor league contract.
Telis spent the entire 2019 season at Triple-A Rochester, where he slashed .330/.364/.490 across 327 plate appearances. Had the Twins not gotten such great production from their catchers at the MLB level, he surely would have received a callup at some point. Maybe the 28-year-old will find better luck in 2020.
  • MLB Catcher #76
Twins reassigned Cs Tomas Telis and Brian Navarreto and INF Randy César to minor league camp.
It’s the latest round of cuts for the Twins. None of them were legitimate threats to crack the Opening Day roster.
  • MLB Catcher #76
Twins signed C Tomas Telis to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Telis holds an ugly .230/.267/.298 batting line in 267 career plate appearances at the major league level spread over the last five seasons. The 27-year-old will probably be stationed at Triple-A Rochester in 2019.
  • MLB Catcher #76
Marlins recalled C Tomas Telis from Triple-A New Orleans.
Telis will function as the Marlins’ emergency third catcher over the final four weeks of the regular season. He is a .213/.248/.231 career hitter in the big leagues.
