Tomáš Satoranský is reportedly signing a four-year deal with FC Barcelona.
Satoranský spent six seasons in the NBA, but found himself with a diminished role in 2021-22 for the Pelicans, Wizards and Spurs (for one nine-minute stint). He’s still only 30 years old and should help Barcelona vie for championships in the EuroLeague and Spain’s Liga ACB. If his NBA career is indeed over, as seems likely, he’ll finish with stateside averages of 6.9 points, 4.1 dimes, 2.9 boards and 0.8 steals.

Tomas Satoransky has been in contact with Spanish powerhouse, FC Barcelona, according to Encestando.
Satoransky is an unrestricted free agent this off-season, and after six seasons in the NBA, it could be time for him to head over to Europe to continue his playing career. He averaged just 3.6 points per game this season, after playing 32 games with the Pelicans, one game with the Spurs, and 22 games with the Wizards.

  • NBA Point Guard #31
Tomas Satoransky double-doubled without scoring a point vs. the Magic on Wednesday, going 0-of-2 from the field with 13 assists, 10 rebounds and two turnovers in 27 minutes.
Well, OK then. Satoransky becomes just the third player in NBA history to have a 0-10-10 game, joining Josh Giddey and Norm Van Lier. Satoransky hasn’t exactly put the league on notice since taking over as the starting PG, but he’s been getting the job done in fantasy as an assists specialist – he has a total of 36 dimes in his last four games.

  • NBA Point Guard #31
Tomas Satoransky started at point guard vs. the Pistons on Friday and scored six points (2-of-4 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), six assists, three rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes.
Raul Neto was a DNP-CD, while Ish Smith saw 19 minutes as the backup. Satoransky isn’t exactly loaded with upside but could be a decent source of dimes in the final two weeks. It also helps that the Wizards play four times in each of the final two weeks.

  • NBA Point Guard #31
Tomas Satoransky will replace Raul Neto in the starting lineup for Friday’s game against the Pistons, joining Corey Kispert, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Rui Hachimura and Kristaps Porzingis in the first five.
Sato’s minutes have been up and down as of late, and while he has a few good lines sprinkled in there, he’s tough to trust even if he starts. He could be worth a dart throw in DFS lineups, but this move probably has more to do with the fact that Washington has lost eight of their last nine games, causing coach Wes Unseld Jr. to shake things up.

  • NBA Point Guard #31
Tomas Satoransky finished Saturday’s win over the Lakers with 16 points (6-of-6 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), three rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two 3-pointers in 27 minutes.
Satoransky had one of his best games of the season Saturday night, as he did not miss a shot from the field while also failing to commit a single turnover. However, this does not make him a player worthy of fantasy consideration. Satoransky played a total of 21 minutes in Washington’s three games prior, and there’s also the presence of point guards Raul Neto (5/2/2 with one 3-pointer in 18 minutes) and Ish Smith (4/5/5/1 in 26 minutes) to take into consideration. Leave Satoransky on the waiver wire, even with the Wizards playing four games next week.

Ish Smith shot 6-of-8 from the field in Sunday’s win over the Pacers, tallying 13 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes.
The 28 minutes are the most that Smith has played since returning to D.C., with the increase in playing time coming as a result of Raul Neto’s second-quarter ankle injury. Washington won’t play again until Wednesday against the Clippers, but now would be a good time to grab Smith off of your league’s waiver wire. If Neto has to miss additional time, Smith will be the starter. Another Wizards with point guard eligibility worthy of consideration is Tomas Satoransky, who logged 14 minutes but finished with 10 points (3-of-4 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), one rebound, five assists, and one 3-pointer. But he’s only worth picking up if Smith is not available.

  • NBA Point Guard #19
Raul Neto (left ankle sprain) will not return to Sunday’s game against the Pacers.
Neto sprained his ankle during the second quarter, giving way to backup Ish Smith as a result. Smith is starting the third quarter and will play the majority of the point guard minutes moving forward. Washington can also use Tomas Satoransky at the point, so look for him to get the call when Smith needs a breather.

  • POR Small Forward #8
Deni Avdija (right quad contusion) played nine minutes in Tuesday’s 116-113 win over the Pistons, accounting for two points (0-of-2 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Avdija exited the game during the first quarter after taking a knee to his right quad. He would return to begin the second quarter, but the second-year forward’s night came to an end shortly thereafter. Some of the minutes that would have gone to Avdija went to Tomas Satoransky (4/3/1/2/1), who played 14 minutes in his first game back with the Wizards. That could once again be the case if the Wizards rule Avdija out for Friday’s game against the Hawks, but it would not be enough to make Satoransky a player worth streaming.

  • NBA Point Guard #31
Tomas Satoransky has agreed to a buyout with the Spurs and plans to sign with the Wizards.
One of Sato’s best NBA seasons came in 2018-19 with the Wizards when he averaged 8.9 points, 5.0 dimes, 3.5 boards and 1.0 steals while shooting 48.5% from the field and 81.9% from the charity stripe, but that was three years ago when he was essentially the only available point guard on the roster. This time he’ll be competing for minutes with Raul Neto and Ish Smith, so we wouldn’t anticipate him replicating that success.
