  • FA Tackle #77
    Titans released LT Taylor Lewan.
Tennessee clears $14.8 million in cap space with the move. Lewan missed almost the entire 2022 season with a knee injury he suffered in Week 2, and the veteran is widely expected to retire this offseason. The former No. 11 overall pick in 2014 has missed 30 games the last three years to various injuries. Without Lewan, the Titans offensive line was graded by Pro Football Focus as the league’s worst pass-blocking unit in 2022.

  • FA Tackle #77
Titans LT Taylor Lewan (knee) could retire this offseason.
Lewan lasted two games before a season-ending knee injury landed him on IR. The former No. 11 overall pick has missed 30 games the last three years to injuries and could decide to retire this offseason. Tennessee is expected to release Lewan, clearing $14.8 million in 2023 cap space. Lewan’s history of knee injuries will limit him to one-year deals if he returns.

  • FA Tackle #77
NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports Titans OT Taylor Lewan will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Lewan exited Week 2’s contest on a cart after only two offensive snaps. Initial fears of extensive damage to the knee have been confirmed through follow-up testing, with Rapoport now reporting the veteran tackle will miss the remainder of the season. It’s a tough blow and could spell trouble for a team struggling to the tune of 3.83 running back yards per carry. Dennis Daley replaced Lewan at left tackle last week. Lewan’s play has been slipping for years. He’ll be 32 years old next offseason.

  • LAC Linebacker #48
Titans EDGE Bud Dupree (hip) will not play in Week 3 against the Raiders.
Dupree played 12 snaps in Week 2 before going down with the hip injury. He did not practice at all this week, so his absence on Sunday was always the likely outcome. Titans coach Mike Vrabel also ruled out OT Taylor Lewan, S Ugo Amadi, and LB Ola Adeniyi for Week 3.

  • FA Tackle #77
AtoZSports.com’s Buck Reising reports the Titans “fear” Taylor Lewan (knee) could be out for the season.
Lewan went down with a seemingly serious knee injury on the second play of the Titans’ Week 2 loss to Buffalo. He was carted to the locker room. “Those close to the situation initially believed Lewan likely to be done for the 2022 season, but the lineman will undergo further testing on Wednesday,” Reising said. It would be a huge loss for the Titans, who offensive line has been shredded by the Giants and Bills in the season’s first two weeks. The Titans may be inching closer to giving Malik Willis a real look in what will likely be a lost season.

  • FA Tackle #77
Titans LT Taylor Lewan exited Week 2 against the Bills with a knee injury and was carted to the locker room.
Lewan was injured on the second play of the Titans’ first offensive drive. He was replaced by backup Dennis Daley.

  • FA Tackle #77
Titans beat writer John Glennon speculates that some “conceivable cuts” for Tennessee this offseason are LT Taylor Lewan, LB Zach Cunningham, and LG Rodger Saffold.
Each would free up at least $10.5 million in cap space for a team that is currently over the cap. We would be surprised if Lewan were released based on his standing with the franchise and Mike Vrabel. Lewan said after the Titans loss that “I have no doubt that I will be back next year.” Cunningham’s contract is an obvious overpay for someone who was claimed on waivers in-season, and Saffold turns 34 in June. Those two contracts make a little more sense to be restructured or cut.

  • FA Tackle #77
Titans activated LT Taylor Lewan from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Lewan only spent five days on the list and missed no games. He was added one day after the Titans knocked off the 49ers on Thursday. Assuming he returns without any conditioning issues, Lewan will start versus the Dolphins. Pro Football Focus has Lewan graded as their No. 34 tackle this year.

  • FA Tackle #77
Colts placed LT Taylor Lewan on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Lewan joins fellow linemen Kendall Lamb and Rodger Saffold on the COVID list. The good news is Lewan has until next Sunday to gain clearance.

  • MIA Tackle #70
Titans placed OT Kendall Lamm on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Lamm tweeted that he is COVID positive and “down bad.” Our thoughts are with him for a speedy recovery. With LT Taylor Lewan out with a back injury, Lamm was going to start at left tackle vs. the 49ers on Thursday evening. Now we have no idea what the plan might be. It is a dangerous situation for Ryan Tannehill vs. a pass rush keyed by Nick Bosa.
