Bears signed WR Tajae Sharpe, formerly of the Falcons, to a one-year contract.
Sharpe, 27, spent last season in Atlanta where he posted a 25-230-0 line on 37 targets, spanning 15 appearances and seven starts for the talent-deficient Falcons. He hasn’t caught a touchdown since 2019. At his best, Sharpe is a fourth wideout who doesn’t play special teams. He’ll compete for a job in Chicago.

  • NO Wide Receiver #17
Bears signed WR Dante Pettis, formerly of the Giants, to a one-year contract.
The Bears also inked fellow veteran WR Tajae Sharpe to a one-year deal Wednesday. Pettis, 26, had a productive 27-467-5 line with the 49ers as a second-round rookie in 2018 but then fell into coach Kyle Shanahan’s doghouse and never escaped before landing with the Giants in 2020. He went 10-87-1 on 16 targets last season but landed on I.R. with a shoulder issue in November. Pettis has flashed previously and now goes to a Bears team starving for playmakers. It’s a good spot for him.

  • FA Wide Receiver #88
Tajae Sharpe did not catch either of his targets in Atlanta’s Week 18 loss to New Orleans.
He did catch a two-point conversion with 10 seconds left, but the Falcons held on the play and had to settle for kicking. Reunited with former offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, Sharpe posted a vintage Sharpe line of “being a good run blocker and incidentally catching some footballs along the way.” The veteran will be an available free-agent depth piece again in 2022, and he’ll handle the dirty jobs while being valueless in fantasy football.

  • LAC Tight End #88
Falcons activated Hayden Hurst from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Also back for Atlanta are Tajae Sharpe, DT Marlon Davidson, DB Jaylinn Hawkins, and LB James Vaughters. Sharpe was playing meaningful snaps before being put on the list, but Hurst’s return is more interesting from a fantasy perspective given Kyle Pitts’ (hamstring) uncertain Week 18 status. Hurst could be a DFS option if Pitts is forced to sit.

  • FA Wide Receiver #88
Falcons placed Tajae Sharpe on the reserve/COVID list.
DT Tyeler Davison, LB Brandon Copeland, and LB James Vaughters also ended up on the COVID list. Sharpe missed Week 16 because of a foot injury, and now it looks like he is going to be sidelined for Week 17 as well. Russell Gage and Kyle Pitts remain the only fantasy-relevant members of Atlanta’s passing game.

  • FA Wide Receiver #88
Falcons declared WR Tajae Sharp, QB Josh Rosen, DL John Cominsky, and OL Josh Andrews inactive for Week 16 against the Lions.
Sharpe was doubtful with a foot injury and unable to suit up. Ultimately, the Falcons will be at near full strength against Detroit. The Lions are coming off a huge win against the Cardinals, but remain high exploitable on defense, particularly through the air.

  • FA Wide Receiver #88
Tajae Sharpe (foot) is doubtful for Week 16 against the Lions.
Sharpe did not practice all week and is not going to suit up. Sharpe had been working as the WR2 behind Russell Gage, but it was not amounting to much fantasy production. Gage and Kyle Pitts are the only fantasy-relevant members of Atlanta’s passing game.

  • FA Wide Receiver #88
Tajae Sharpe (foot) has been ruled out for the remainder of the Falcons’ Week 15 game against the 49ers.
Sharpe left the field in the second half and was ruled out shortly after his departure. He plays a starting role for the Falcons but rarely does much with the opportunity. He has nine catches for 60 yards over his past five games before Week 15. Sharpe ends the day with one catch-less target.

  • FA Wide Receiver #88
Tajae Sharpe caught 2-of-4 targets for 21 yards in Atlanta’s Week 11 loss to New England.
He was also the target on Atlanta’s longest play of the night, a 19-yard defensive pass interference drawn against Jalen Mills. Atlanta’s wideouts room is going to somehow make us blurb about Donte Moncrief this season, we just know it.

  • FA Wide Receiver #88
Tajae Sharpe caught a 12-yard pass in the Falcons’ Week 9 win over the Saints.
Order returned to the Falcons’ receiver corps today, with Sharpe tumbling behind Russell Gage and Olamide Zaccheaus in the targets battle. Even in deeper 14-team leagues, it is difficult to make an argument for rostering the 26-year-old journeyman.
