The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson reports that the Dolphins “have been in contact” with free agent CB Rasul Douglas.
The Dolphins appear dead set on a split with No. 1 CB Jalen Ramsey, which would leave them with slot CB Kader Kohou as the only reliable starter at the position. The 30-year-old Douglas is no longer a high-impact perimeter starter, having produced a single-digit (6.5 percent) forced incompletion rate last year; the first time doing so since 2018. He would still likely be an upgrade over penciled-in perimeter starters, Storm Duck and Cam Smith. Should the team resolve their issues with Ramsey, and sign Douglas, they would suddenly have a decent starting trio on their hands.
  • MIA Cornerback #36
North Carolina sophomore CB Storm Duck (lower body) has returned to practice ahead of Saturday’s game against Notre Dame.
The Tar Heels could receive a welcome boost in the secondary for Saturday’s game, as Duck (6'1/195) has returned to practice. It’s important to keep in mind that no decision has been made regarding his status for the matchup with Notre Dame, but the fact that the sophomore cornerback is back on the field is good news. Also, fellow sophomore cornerback Kyler McMichael (undisclosed) has already been declared available for the game.

    Beau Corrales
    SMU #15
North Carolina senior WR Beau Corrales and sophomore CB Storm Duck have been ruled out for Saturday’s game vs. Wake Forest due to lower body injuries.
Corrales (6'3/205) has not appeared in a game since the Tar Heels’ October 17 loss at Florida State due to his lower body injury, robbing the Tar Heels of one of the top options in the passing game. Dyami Brown has increased his production with the senior wide receiver sidelined, with Dazz Newsome and Emery Simmons also stepping up. As for Duck, he hasn’t played since North Carolina’s win at Boston College back on October 3. Patrice Rene and Ladaeson Hollins started at cornerback in Saturday’s win over Duke.

North Carolina senior WR Beau Corrales and sophomore CB Storm Duck have been ruled out for Saturday’s game vs. Duke due to lower body injuries.
Neither Corrales (6'3/205) nor Duck was available for this past weekend’s loss to Virginia, as two of the Tar Heels’ most important players remain sidelined due to injury. At the wide receiver position Dyami Brown will be targeted even more in the passing game, as he reached the end zone three times against the Cavaliers. As for cornerback, with Duck sidelined Patrice Rene and Ladaeson Holmes will likely start for the second straight week.

  • MIA Cornerback #36
North Carolina sophomore CB Storm Duck has been ruled out for Saturday’s game vs. Virginia due to an undisclosed injury.
Duck (6'1/195) will be out for the fourth straight game, and it’s possible that his backup could be sidelined as well. Patrice Rene, who filled in for the sophomore corner in the Tar Heels’ October 17 loss at Florida State, was also held out of this past weekend’s home win over NC State. Rene, whose injury also hasn’t been made public, will be evaluate throughout the week before a decision is made regarding his status for the matchup with Virginia. Sophomores Kyler McMichael and Don Chapman started at corner against the Wolfpack.

  • MIA Cornerback #36
North Carolina sophomore CB Storm Duck has been ruled out for Saturday’s game vs. NC State due to an undisclosed injury.
The Tar Heels will once again be without their best cornerback, as Duck (6'1/195) was also held out of games against Virginia Tech and Florida State. The sophomore’s absence means another start for Patrice Rene, who tallied three total tackles (two solo) and one pass breakup in Saturday’s 31-28 loss to the Seminoles.

  • Ja'Qurious Conley
    UNC #0
North Carolina freshman DB Ja’Qurious Conley will be re-evaluated later this week after sitting out Saturday’s win over Virginia Tech due to an undisclosed injury.
Conley (6'0/210) was injured during the Tar Heels’ October 3 win at Boston College, and he did not take part in this past weekend’s win over Virginia Tech as a result. Whether or not the freshman defensive back will be available for Saturday’s home game vs. Florida State won’t be known until later this week, and the Tar Heels could certainly use the depth boost in the secondary. In addition to Conley the Heels were also without the injured Storm Duck (who has already been ruled out for FSU), and earlier this season Myles Wolfolk was declared academically ineligible.

  • MIA Cornerback #36
North Carolina sophomore DB Storm Duck (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game vs. Florida State.
Duck (6'1/195) will miss his second straight game due to an issue that was not disclosed by the school, as he was also held out of Saturday’s win over Virginia Tech. The sophomore defensive back was replaced in the starting lineup by Patrice Rene, who accounted for five total tackles (three solo), one pass breakup and one quarterback hurry.

  • MIA Cornerback #36
North Carolina sophomore DB Storm Duck is one of three defensive starters not going through warmups ahead of Saturday’s game vs. Virginia Tech.
Duck (6'1/195), NT Ray Vohasek and nickel Ja’Qurious Conley were not taking part in pregame warmups according to InsideCarolina.com with no reason given for their absences. Duck, Vohasek and Conley have tallied four total tackles apiece on the season, with Duck also accounting for two passes defensed. Vohasek has also been credited with a sack.

  • MIA Cornerback #36
North Carolina signed three-star 2019 CB Storm Duck.
Duck (6'1/180) may not have the biggest recruiting profile -- the 247Sports composite board ranks him as the No. 119 corner in the 2019 class -- and who knows, maybe we never hear from him again. But boy howdy does he have a strong name. Wasting no time, the Tar Heels Twitter feed announced his signing with storm and duck emojis. Jokes aside, UNC has to be thrilled with their day after earlier flipping four-star QB Sam Howell from FSU.
