Chiefs OT Steve Maneri has been moved to tight end.
Undrafted out of Temple in 2010, Maneri was a tight end in college. He appeared in six games last season, starting one. His position switch could mean either the Chiefs like his versatility, or that he’s running out of time to prove himself in the NFL.
  • FA Tight End #48
    Bears signed TE Steve Maneri.
At 6'7/280, Maneri is a strictly a blocker. He even filled in as a tackle at times for the Chiefs. This signing is not related to Thursday morning’s arrest of FB/TE Evan Rodriguez -- the Bears have been linked to Maneri since Monday.
  • FA Tight End #48
The Bears and Texans are trying to sign free agent TE Steve Maneri.
The Chiefs didn’t tender Maneri as an exclusive rights free agent. Maneri, a former college offensive tackle, is a 25-year-old blocking-only tight end.
  • FA Tight End #48
Buccaneers signed TE Steve Maneri, formerly of the Bears.
26-year-old Maneri is another ex-Bear following Lovie Smith to Tampa Bay. Purely a blocking tight end, Maneri has also played offensive tackle in the league. He appeared in four games with the 2013 Bears, failing to catch a pass.
  • FA Tight End #48
    Jets signed TE Steve Maneri.
Maneri (6-foot-7, 280) is purely a blocker. He played 22 snaps for the Patriots last season and takes the roster spot of Zach Sudfeld, who tore his ACL last week.
  • FA Tight End #48
Free agent TE Steve Maneri worked out for the Dolphins Tuesday.
Maneri visited with the Ravens on Saturday, but remains unsigned. In Miami, he would provide depth with Charles Clay (knee) and Michael Egnew sidelined. 26-year-old Maneri is a strict blocking tight end that plays in jumbo packages.
  • FA Tight End #48
Patriots signed TEs Steve Maneri and Terrence Miller.
26-year-old Maneri figures to fight with Ben Hartsock for one roster spot in New England. Like Hartsock, Maneri is strictly a blocking tight end.
  • FA Tight End #48
Buccaneers waived/released TE Steve Maneri, TE/FB Josh Baker and CB Bobby Felder.
Maneri was just signed in February. He appeared in four games for the Bears last season. Signed in April, Baker was out of the league last season after sitting out in 2012 with a torn ACL. Felder has never appeared in an NFL game.
  • FA Tight End #48
    Bears released TE Steve Maneri.
The 6-foot-6, 290-pound blocking tight end goes to make room for Jordan Palmer, who is now Josh McCown’s backup with Jay Cutler (groin) out indefinitely.
  • HOU Tight End
Texans waived TE Derek Fine, FB Jack Corcoran, LB Isaiah Greenhouse, C Brett Helms, OT Steve Maneri, and CB Mark Parson.
Corcoran is a converted linebacker. Greenhouse was tried at fullback early in camp, but the position switch didn’t work out. Yet another conversion project, the undrafted free agent Maneri was a tight end at Massachusetts.
