Falcons selected Syracuse K Sterling Hofrichter with the No. 228 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
A four-year punter with two seasons of kickoff duty, Hofrichter made 3-of-4 career field goals (52-yard shot included) in a pinch at that position with the Orangemen. The Falcons declared him as a kicker when drafted, likely bringing him in to compete with Younghoe Koo. It’s unclear if the team will convert Hofrichter back to punter if he doesn’t win said competition.
