Rams TE Stephen Spach sustained a concussion in Monday night’s game.
The third stringer and blocking specialist will have to go through the NFL’s testing protocol before gaining clearance for a return.
  • FA Tight End #83
    Jaguars released TE Stephen Spach.
Spach, a blocking specialist, lasts just one week on the roster. The Lions are giving Maurice Stovall a chance instead.
  • FA Tight End #83
Jaguars signed TE Stephen Spach and OT Herb Taylor.
Spach is a blocking specialist and will play behind Marcedes Lewis and Zach Potter if active on game days. He was with the Rams in 2011. Taylor was with the Packers this summer.

Patriots signed TE Stephen Spach, formerly of the Eagles.
Spach was also with the Vikings in training camp, but didn’t make the cut. The H-back type played for Pat Hill at Fresno State, a good friend of Bill Belichick. Spach’s handy connection could get him a Super Bowl ring.
  • FA Tight End #84
Ben Watson (ankle) is listed as questionable for Week 17.
Kyle Brady (foot) is doubtful and didn’t practice all week, so if Watson can’t go on Saturday night, Stephen Spach will get most of the tight end snaps. Watson appears to be a game-time decision against the Giants. The Patriots only practiced once this week, and Watson had limited participation.
  • NE Tight End
Patriots TE Kyle Brady (ankle) was “walking with a noticeable limp” on Wednesday.
Brady did not practice and with Ben Watson a limited participant, newly signed TE Stephen Spach could see significant snaps this week.
  • FA Tight End #83
Cardinals TE Stephen Spach (ACL, MCL surgery) has been cleared to practice for training camp.
Spach will battle Leonard Pope and Anthony Becht for snaps this August. The Cards boast arguably the least productive tight end situation in the NFC.
