  • NBA Small Forward #3
Stanley Johnson has agreed to a contract with Anadolu Efes, per Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype.
Johnson last suited up in the NBA with the Spurs in February of 2023, and now he will join the team that has won two of the last four Euroleague championships. The former lottery pick may eventually work his way back over to the NBA, but he won’t make much of a fantasy impact.

Doug McDermott (right Achilles soreness) is questionable to play on Monday against Cleveland.
McDermott exited early from Friday’s game, which resulted in him missing Saturday as well. If he’s out again, Stanley Johnson and Keita Bates-Diop should play significant roles off the bench, but neither are prime streaming options.

Doug McDermott (right Achilles soreness) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Hawks.
McDermott, who exited Friday’s game against the Pistons in the third quarter, will sit out the second game of San Antonio’s back-to-back. Stanley Johnson can take on a few more minutes, but that may not be necessary with starter Keldon Johnson back in action. There’s no need to consider streaming Stanley.

Doug McDermott (right Achilles soreness) will not return to Friday’s game against the Pistons.
McDermott exited Friday’s game with 2:56 remaining in the third quarter and was ruled out shortly thereafter. He played 19 minutes, accounting for seven points (3-of-10 FGs), one rebound, two assists, and one 3-pointer. With McDermott done for the night, fellow reserve Stanley Johnson will pick up a few more minutes.

Keldon Johnson (left ankle soreness) has been downgraded to out for Friday’s matchup with the Pistons.
The Spurs will be without four starters on Friday, on top of Devin Vassell still being sidelined and Jakob Poeltl being traded. Keita Bates-Diop, Doug McDermott and Stanley Johnson should play large roles in this game, but there isn’t a ton of fantasy appeal coming from San Antonio right now.

Keldon Johnson (left ankle soreness) participated in the Spurs’ shootaround ahead of Monday’s game against the Bulls.
Johnson is still listed as questionable for Monday’s game, but his participation in shootaround is a positive development. If he cannot play, Stanley Johnson and Isaiah Roby are two players who could move up in the pecking order, but the streaming outlook isn’t great either.

Keldon Johnson (left ankle soreness) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Bulls.
Johnson hasn’t missed a game since January 9, but that run could potentially end Monday night. Should he be ruled out, Stanley Johnson and Isaiah Roby are the players most likely to absorb those minutes. Stanley has been playing more, averaging 22.3 minutes per game over the last week. Neither he nor Roby would be a great streaming option if Keldon were ruled out.

  • SAS Power Forward #10
Jeremy Sochan (lower back) will not return to Wednesday’s matchup with the Kings.
The Spurs haven’t had great injury luck this game, as both Sochan and Tre Jones have exited early. The Spurs will rely on Stanley Johnson and Doug McDermott to play larger roles for the rest of the night.

  • MIA Shooting Guard #0
Josh Richardson (left knee soreness) is officially available for Wednesday’s game against the Kings.
Richardson is back in the Spurs’ rotation after missing three games due to his sore knee. As a result, Stanley Johnson may take a hit in the minutes’ department, but this will not significantly impact fantasy basketball. Johnson should already be on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.

Stanley Johnson (sore right wrist) is available for Thursday’s game against the Clippers.
Johnson is good to go for Thursday’s game and should be in for a few more minutes due to Romeo Langford’s and Jeremy Sochan’s injury-related absences. That said, this isn’t enough to make Johnson a player worth streaming in most fantasy leagues. Leave him on the waiver wire.
