Jaguars waived punters Nick Harris and Spencer Lanning.
After making third-round pick Bryan Anger the highest-drafted punter since 1995, both Harris and Lanning were expendable. They’ll look to latch on and compete for a starting job elsewhere.

    Jaguars re-signed P Nick Harris.
Harris averaged 42.7 yards on 72 punts after taking over for Matt Turk in early October last season. He’s expected to compete with Spencer Lanning, who was recently signed a futures contract.

Browns claimed P Spencer Lanning off waivers from the Jaguars.
The Browns had already waived Richmond McGee, leaving only Reggie Hodges (Achilles surgery) on the roster. Lanning could be insurance in case Hodges struggles in his return this summer.

Jaguars signed P Spencer Lanning to a reserve/future contract.
Lanning went undrafted in 2011 out of South Carolina. The Jags have played musical chairs at punter since losing Adam Podlesh to a pricey deal in Chicago.

Jets claimed P Spencer Lanning off waivers from the Browns.
Lanning will apparently compete with T.J. Conley for punting duties. The Bears also put in a claim, attempting to add insurance for Adam Podlesh (hip).

    Browns signed P Spencer Lanning.
A second-year undrafted free agent, Lanning has never punted in an NFL game. He gives the Browns insurance in case free agent Reggie Hodges isn’t re-signed.

    Browns waived P T.J. Conley.
Spencer Lanning has won the Browns’ punting job, though the position is easily replaceable. Conley hasn’t punted in a regular season game since 2011.

Spencer Lanning is the favorite to win the Browns’ punting job.
Lanning, who has never punted in an NFL game, will compete with T.J. Conley in training camp. Lanning has a squatty build at 5'11/200, which he believes is a benefit to kicking in cold weather. He has the ability to placekick and hold, making him more versatile than Conley. Lanning also has a history with special teams coach Chris Tabor, making him a virtual lock to win the job.

Bucs claimed P Spencer Lanning off waivers from the Browns.
Lanning was officially waived yesterday after the Browns traded for Andy Lee. Lanning was just one of four punters last season to average less than five seconds of hang time on his boots. He’ll compete with overpaid incumbent Michael Koenen for the Bucs’ job this summer.

    Browns released P Spencer Lanning.
That did not take long. After acquiring Andy Lee from the 49ers, Lanning had no place on the Browns’ roster. Lanning averaged 44.1 yards per punt in two years with the Browns and should resurface elsewhere before camp.
