The Vikings will continue to use DT Spencer Johnson in a three-man rotation with Chris Hovan and Kevin Williams.
Johnson had seven tackles in 28 plays on Sunday. That’s good.

NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reports the Raiders will release OLB Kamerion Wimbley on Friday.
Wimbley is one of a handful of veterans, including Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb, Ravens LT Bryant McKinnie, Eagles CB Joselio Hanson, and Bills DE Spencer Johnson, with roster bonuses due. With Mario Williams out of the picture, Wimbley will immediately become the most attractive pass rusher on the market.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #91
Bills reserve DL Spencer Johnson is sidelined with an ankle injury, and has been ruled out for Week 5.
Johnson appears to have a high-ankle sprain, and is week-to-week. Sent to the bench following Buffalo’s acquisition of Mario Williams and Mark Anderson, Johnson has just four tackles and zero sacks through four games.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #91
The Patriots worked out free agent DL Spencer Johnson on Thursday.
It’s Johnson’s first action of free agency. The 31-year-old nine-year veteran appeared in 14 games for the Bills last season, registering 19 tackles and two sacks as a rotational player. The Patriots have a crowded front line.
  • BUF Defensive Lineman #90
Bills OLB Chris Kelsay (calf) is expected to return to his starting job against the Redskins this week.
Kelsay will start on one side with Danny Batten on the other. Coach Chan Gailey plans a rotation, however, with Arthur Moats and Spencer Johnson also seeing plenty of snaps. With Kyle Williams and Shawne Merriman out, the Bills are still a terrific matchup for opposing fantasy players.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #92
Dwan Edwards opened Bills OTAs Tuesday as a starting defensive end ahead of Spencer Johnson.
Marcus Stroud manned the other end spot, with Kyle Williams at nose tackle. Edwards failed physicals for other teams before signing, but he insists he’s perfectly healthy. Johnson will stay in a rotational lineman role this year, fighting promising third-round pick Alex Carrington for snaps.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #91
Kenechi Udeze will be replaced in the starting lineup Sunday by Spencer Johnson.
Udeze is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee soon. Erasmus James will sub for Johnson in passing situations and also in a few other packages.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #91
Spencer Johnson (knee) will miss Sunday’s game against the Packers.
In Johnson’s absence, the Vikings are expected to use more 3-4 defenses. Erasmus James and Lance Johnstone will get more playing time at defensive end.

DE Spencer Johnson (knee) is doubtful for Sunday’s game.
Johnson played last week after missing three games, but apparently had a setback. As usual, Minnesota’s defense is in rough shape.
