Yohan Cabaye left Newcastle to head home to France.
But less than a year into his tenure at Paris Saint-Germain, Cabaye is already voicing his frustrations.
After failing to crack the starting lineup, Cabaye has seen his minutes decrease as he was forced to adapt to a role off the bench.
Speaking to French newspaper L’Equipe, Cabaye was unhappy with his situation at PSG. After making the move to PSG for over $30 million, he clearly believed he would play a more influential role in the club’s midfield.You have to accept being a substitute, but I don’t resign myself to that. In training sessions, I have to give my best and show my desire to play.
Am I completely happy? To be honest, no. It is a new situation for me, but I don’t complain. It is the first time I haven’t played regularly for my club.
Have I spoken to (manager) Laurent Blanc? No. What do I tell him? I am 28 years old and not new to the job. But I am not satisfied with the situation.”
Cabaye, who represented France at this summer’s World Cup, said he was worried that his lack of playing time at PSG could effect his tenure with the French national team.
After joining Newcastle in 2011, Cabaye enjoyed a good run of play with the Magpies. Last season Cabaye had one of the best years of his career, controlling the midfield while becoming one of the hottest commodities on the transfer market. After Cabaye left in January, Newcastle endured a terrible run to end the season, and that poor play has carried over into this campaign. They currently have four points in seven matches and sit in the relegation zone.

While Cabaye signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with PSG after joining the club last January, but he already may have Premier League clubs looking into his availability.
