Arsene Wenger and Jamie Vardy have been awarded the Premier League Manager and Player of the month awards for October.

Wenger, 66, led Arsenal to four-straight PL wins in October as the Gunners sit joint-top of the table with a third of the season in the books. Arsenal are unbeaten in six PL games in total, winning five and drawing the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

As for the player of the month, Leicester City’s Vardy, 28, kept his remarkable run going as he scored five goals in four games in October. He has also scored in nine consecutive PL games and if he scores in his next match he will equal Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in 10-straight games. Vardy has 12 goals in 12 PL appearances and the English striker has helped the Foxes to a remarkable start which has seen them rise to third in the table. He is currently the top scorer in the top five European leagues, ahead of Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski to name a few.

Wenger’s award is his 15th manager of the month gong in his 19 season in charge of Arsenal, while Vardy becomes the first Leicester player since 2000 (Tim Flowers) to win a PL player of the month award.
