Manchester United defeated Stoke City 2-1 yesterday, their fourth straight win in the Premier League.
While they won yesterday without their captain Wayne Rooney, manager Louis van Gaal is hopeful they won’t have to play many more games with the skipper out of the lineup.

Rooney injured his knee over the weekend in United’s win over Hull City after he crashed into the advertising boards at Old Trafford.
Despite remaining on the pitch for the full 90 minutes against Hull, Rooney did not dress last night in United’s win over Stoke.
The captain is scheduled to undergo a scan on his knee today, but his manager is optimistic it is just a knock and nothing more serious. It’s his knee but we have to wait to say anything about him because you never know with a knee.
My opinion is it’s not so serious but I’m not a doctor. We have to wait for the scan on Wednesday, then we’ll know more. I hope it’s not so serious.”

Without Rooney in the lineup, youngster James Wilson made only his second Premier League start yesterday. The 19-year-old was impressive, using his speed to blow by defenders in his 78 minutes of play before being replaced by Radamel Falcao, who once again looked unfit and failed to make an impact on the match.
If Rooney’s injury is more serious than expected, Wilson will likely start again for the Red Devils in their next match against Southampton.
