With Arsenal asking all the questions in the opening stages of a frantic game against Crystal Palace, the Frenchman produced a fantastic scissor-kick volley on a cross from Mesut Ozil to give the Gunners a deserved early lead.

Both teams looked to play on the counter early, and Arsenal held most of the meaningful possession, making Palace pay for their aggressive play on set-pieces and counters. Alexis Sanchez had a few early chances as well, but it’s Giroud who struck the opener on 16 minutes.
