As expected, Manchester United did the required at Old Trafford against manager-less Reading and took the three points on offer, moving a step closer to League title number 20.

There is no doubt United have been the best team this year in the Premiership as the table never lies however it would be a tough call to say that this United team compares to say the ’99 vintage.
The opposition and competition have continually stubbed their toes this campaign and the era of the ‘big 4' has fallen away in a red powered jet stream.
Ferguson won’t care one jot though and will no doubt claim that his 13th League title with United is the sweetest so far.
