U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati says an initial list of about 35 candidates to replace Pia Sundhage as women’s national team coach was culled to seven candidates, who have all now been interviewed. Following last night’s U.S. draw with Germany, the U.S. Soccer president told the NBC Sports Network team that he hopes to make the announcement by Nov. 1.
Gulati also told the NBC team about developments in the drive for a new, top-tier women’s professional league.
