Here’s how we saw Spurs’ rough day at the back and Liverpool’s ruthless day up front.

Fraser Forster: 4 — Not going to do anything about the first goal and the second’s a big ask, too, but slow to react either way if he was going to make a big stop on either. Four saves and five goals allowed on 3.50 expected goals on target.
Djed Spence: 4 — A bit jumpy, he went for the same ball as Gray on the second goal and has failed to close down wide attackers along with Porro on the other side. Blocked three shots but so much went poorly.
Archie Gray: 5 — Looked his age a few times and found out the hard way that you can play Mo Salah pretty well and still see a chance smash the cross bar.
Radu Dragusin: 4 — Making a number of poor choices that stop him from being a part of pivotal defensive moments.
Pedro Porro: 5.5 — Responsible for a goal but also one of the only Spurs players constantly producing in the other direction. A game-high 14 passes into the final third.
Yves Bissouma: 5.5 — Did what he could in front of a struggling back line during the first half, then joined them in a dismaying second 45 minutes.
Pape Sarr (Off 68'): 5 — See Bissouma’s grade, minus the final 22 minutes.
Heung-min Son (Off 82'): 5.5 — Up for it, but sloppy. A lazy or even sarcastic offside stopped one Spurs chance.
James Maddison (Off 58'): 7 — If anything’s true about the mercurial Maddison, he shows up for big games. Great goal.
Dejan Kulusevski: 8.5 — Helped cause the turnover for Maddison’s goal, and was just very good all-around on a day his teammates struggled to match him.
Dominic Solanke: 7 — Starved of the ball in the first half, but rebounded and scored a goal and nabbed an assist.

Brennan Johnson (On 58'): 6 — Worked hard, got an assist.
Lucas Bergvall (On 58): 5 — Brutal on Liverpool’s last goal.

Liverpool players ratings vs Tottenham
Alisson Becker: 6 — Not going to stop either goal. Didn’t have much else to do.
Andy Robertson: 6 — Has picked his spots well to move forward.
Virgil van Dijk: 8 — Not at fault for the goal. Good with the ball while ringing up 11 defensive actions. A remarkable 9-for-9 in duels.
Joe Gomez: 7 — Much of the same as Van Dijk, just not as strong.
Trent Alexander-Arnold: 9 — Has had his hands and feet full with Heung-min Son, but oh my the vision and passing when Liverpool have the ball. Glorious assist to Diaz. Led the game in touches and created chances. Also led the game in defensive actions.
Ryan Gravenberch: 6.5 — Busy and clean but somehow not truly registering a strong mark on the game.
Dominik Szoboszlai: 8 — Won the header that became Mac Allister’s goal, then scored one himself. Winning almost every duel. Between Szoboszlai, Diaz, and Salah, the trio rang up 20 shot attempts.
Alexis Mac Allister (Off 68'): 7 — Did so much well including scoring the Reds’ second goal but lost the ball on Spurs’ late-half goal and then docks him a point. Four interceptions and nine recoveries.
Mohamed Salah (Off 87'): 9.5 — Smashed the cross bar early and gave the Spurs left side real headaches. Great reverse to Szoboszlai for the third goal before becoming the finisher to continue his assault on the Premier League season and career record books. Then set up Diaz’s second. Top, top, top form.
Cody Gakpo (Off 68'): 7 — Solid but not spectacular.
Luis Diaz (Off 87'): 9 — What a diving header to open the scoring, and brilliant work to start and finish the sixth goal.

Curtis Jones (On 68'): 6 — Good with the ball, not doing much without it.
Diogo Jota (On 68): 6 — Who lot of nothing aside from butchering a chance at a header.
