Swansea City manager Alan Curtis has confirmed that the club has received some calls about the availability of Jonjo Shelvey.
The 23-year-old midfielder has seen limited playing time this season for Swansea despite earning his first start for the England national team.

Curtis said that he has spoken with Shelvey and knows his player wants more first-team minutes with EURO 2016 coming up in June. Curtis also spoke on Shelvey’s attitude, which has sometimes been an issue during his young career.There’s always speculation with Jonjo. I speak to Jonjo regularly, he wants to stay and obviously he wants first-team football.
It’s an important season going into the Euros. I can’t quite guarantee him first team football at the moment, but he’s certainly got enough ability to play a big part for us. I’d love him to stay. I don’t think there has been any bids, I think there have been enquiries.
I’ve tried to speak to him and his attitude has always been in question, but he just wants to play and he gets frustrated if he is not in the team.
If he is in the team he is not a problem at all, if he is not in the team he can be a bit more difficult to manage. He doesn’t come to you, you pull him in and find out when he is thinking about.
Shelvey is a fringe player on Roy Hodgson’s England team, and he will likely miss out on the EURO squad if he doesn’t find more playing time to prove himself in the Premier League.

Sky Sports is reporting that Newcastle has opened talks with Swansea and could submit an official bid sometime this week, which is expected to be around $15 million.
