Steven Gerrard’s next job: Manager in League One?

Steven Gerrard announced his departure from the LA Galaxy earlier this week, and that may signal the end of his playing career.

Sky Sports reports that the 36-year-old Gerrard has had talks with League One side MK Dons about taking over as their manager.

The Dons are in the third tier’s relegation scrap, and fired coach Karl Robinson in October.

Gerrard was 1:1 odds with bettors to take the field for Brendan Rodgers at Celtic, with others tabbing him for a move to Newcastle United.

Yet he could opt to begin his coaching career. Who knows if he’d considering sliding back onto the pitch if things grow more dire (See: Kevin Nolan and Ryan Giggs)?
