Rumors have abounded that Cristiano Ronaldo is winding down his time at the Bernabeu, voicing his displeasure at Real Madrid letting stars walk, and recently talking about how Manchester United is in his heart.
And so, despite the transfer window closing last week, the rumors roll on.
The Daily Star isn’t exactly pulling down Pulitzers, but it is worth noting their reports that Real Madrid has put together a list of attackers to bring into the club if Ronaldo skips town next summer. And CaughtOffside is also talking up United’s bid for CR7.

Apparently that list is as such:
1) Gareth Bale (already there)1) James Rodriguez (already there)1) Toni Kroos (already there)
1) Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
That has led to Real drafting up a shortlist of potential replacements, with the unsubstantiated claims today suggesting that Chelsea star Hazard is Madrid’s No.1 target.
Starsport understands any move is currently unlikely, but Real’s interest could develop if Ronaldo decides to force through a departure next summer.
Realistically, though, who would be the targets if Ronaldo were to leave? Doesn’t it seem Madrid have already equipped themselves for such a scenario? Granted depth is never a bad thing to have, but the club is loaded.
Some other names of interest to consider would be Paul Pogba and Kevin Strootman. Look, the idea of Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid is simply not as far-fetched as you think. Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain would all have the money to pay the man and, at 30 this February, perhaps America could even come calling via the wallets of Man City/New York City.
