From the Mid American Conference to La Liga, Emmanuel Sabbi’s competition just jumped up a notch.
Sabbi, 18, committed to Akron earlier this year but is not on the Zips’ preseason roster. Now we know why.

The U.S. youth player has joined Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, linking up with Kevin Prince-Boateng and Sergio Araujo (though it’ll be tough for the youngster to see the pitch early on).
Sabbi was Akron’s top recruit, and is No. 9 in the above photo from the U.S. U-18 national team.
