Take this with a yacht load of salt grains parked atop the world’s largest mine, but Sky Sports is reporting that Manchester United is interested in adding Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
There’s been no bid or discussion between the clubs and, while While Sky isn’t some gossip rag, any hope for the deal would assume that:
1) Spurs would sell Kane.
2) Kane would want to leave (He’s stated otherwise).

Plus, what does it mean that Van Gaal is “interested” in Kane? I’m interested in owning a gigantic house boat, having Pearl Jam play in my backyard and having FIFA force Eden Hazard to be the USMNT’s No. 10. All quite unlikely.
Still, the report is mildly interesting, as United has proved itself ready to spend loads of dough whether internationally (Angel Di Maria) or domestically (Luke Shaw). Kane turns 22 in July and broke through for 31 goals in all competitions this season (21 Premier League, 7 Europa League, 3 League Cup).
From Sky Sports:“What Manchester United are doing is looking at all their options. There certainly has been no bid at the moment between Old Trafford and White Hart Lane and no real negotiations at all.
“But what has shifted is that Manchester United have interest in the player. He is under consideration by Louis van Gaal.”
Speaking last month, the 21-year-old made it clear he intends to stay put and build on a breakthrough season under Mauricio Pochettino that saw him make his senior England debut.
“Spurs are a big club and I have a bright future here,” Kane said. “I hope to continue scoring goals and doing well with the club.”
Perhaps it’s time for another long list of players linked to Manchester United, as the Red Devils seem to be dueling with Liverpool for the honor of being the most discussed landing spot in the Premier League.
That said, should a Kane move be viewed as impossible, or even improbable? Given the high prices fetched by English players, is there a way Spurs could benefit from such a sale? We doubt it, and Spurs would be unwise to repeat the star shakeup they oversaw with the sale of Gareth Bale.
