Cristiano Ronaldo received a yellow card for dissent in the 80th minute of Real Madrid’s 2-1 loss to FC Barcelona on Saturday. He protested a couple perceived missed penalty calls by referee Alberto Undiano during the match.

More than once, he was visible on television cameras, arguing with Undiano in a demonstrative manner. However, Ronaldo’s teammate Sergio Ramos is the one being examined by Spain’s Referees’ Technical Committee for dissent.

“Some things you can’t fight against,” Ramos said in a post-game interview. “There was a clear penalty for a handball by Adriano, and another [for a foul] on Cristiano in the second half.”

Ronaldo did not speak to the press after the match, perhaps avoiding an opportunity to make things worse for himself after seeing yellow for dissent during the match. However, his feelings were obvious from his pointed gestures before the kickoff after Barcelona’s second goal of the game.

Undiano did not include Ronaldo’s actions in his post-game report sent to the league and federation.
