The Guardian is reporting that members of Falcao’s family in Colombia have told them his season-long loan deal to Chelsea from AS Monaco will be sealed later this week.

It was also stated that Falcao has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea and that the west London club will have an option to make the initial loan deal permanent at the end of next season.
Falcao, 29, spent last season on loan at Manchester United but scored just four times in 29 appearances for the Red Devils and failed to impress. After captaining Colombia to the Copa America quarterfinals, where they lost to Argentina on penalty kicks, Falcao will now seal the deal to line up for Chelsea during the 2015-16 season.

Falcao’s uncle and father both confirmed on Tuesday night that a deal had been signed with the London club, believed to be a one-year loan from his French club, Monaco, with an option to make the move permanent next summer. This ensures the 29-year-old will remain in the Premier League next term following last season’s similar spell at Manchester United.
With Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho revealing his admiration for Falcao’s talents in a recent interview, it only seemed like a matter of time before “El Tigre” turned up at Stamford Bridge. Following his sensational spells at both FC Porto and Atletico Madrid where he scored 142 goals in 178 games, Falcao’s career has stalled in recent seasons after he suffered a horrific ACL injury to his left knee in January 2014. The predatory forward now seems to be getting a shot at redemption in the Premier League as he will play second fiddle to former Atleti teammate Diego Costa at Chelsea with Didier Drogba leaving Chelsea and Loic Remy’s future uncertain. At times he showed flashes of brilliance for United, but often lacked confidence and seemed to eager to impress the Old Trafford faithful.
However, if Falcao can get anywhere near the form that Mourinho remembers from his spells at Porto and Atletico, then the Chelsea boss will look like a genius as he hands the Colombian a chance to shine for the reigning Premier League champions.
