Brighton came back from a goal down, then finished the game a man down, but held on for a skid-snapping 3-2 victory away to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

It snaps Brighton’s six-game winless run in the Premier League (0W-4D-2L) and pushes them back up into 7th place (22 points) in the table. Nottingham Forest (13 points) remain 14th.
Joao Pedro bagged a brace on the way back for Brighton and Evan Ferguson added a goal of his own, after Anthony Elanga put Forest ahead with a brilliant header after just three minutes. Brighton looked to be home free with a 3-1 lead and more than 70 minutes on the clock, until Lewis Dunk gave away a penalty kick and earned two yellow cards in the span of 30 seconds, first for the foul and the second for dissent.
Elanga got on the end of Morgan Gibbs-White’s cross to the far post to put the Tricky Trees ahead in the 3rd minute, but Ferguson equalized with a Harry Kane-esque curled, low finish through a sea of bodies and tucked ever so perfectly inside the far post. The 19-year-old Irish international has six goals in 12 PL appearances this season after scoring six in 19 last season.
Pedro headed Pascal Gross’ cross home deep into first-half stoppage time and then added his second, from the penalty spot, in the 58th minute. The victory appeared to be well in hand for Roberto De Zerbi’s side, but Dunk’s two yellows, plus the penalty which was converted by Gibbs-White in the 76th minute, made things a little more interesting down the stretch.
Forest had three decent chances, all from inside 15 yards, during the 12 minutes of stoppage time, but Brighton’s defense made a series of key blocks and goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen made one stellar save to preserve the 3-2 scoreline.
What’s next?
Forest will be back in action next Saturday (12:30 pm ET), when they host Everton back at the City Ground. Brighton are off to Athens to face AEK in the Europa League on Thursday, before visiting Chelsea on Sunday (9 am ET).
