“Nearly broke my arm” - Heaton on stunning Zlatan save, day

VpVExmRNAsu5
Former Manchester United player and current Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton faced 37 shots and made 11 saves against his old side to help Burnley earn a 0-0 draw.

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton had an incredible game against his old club, a performance worthy of being pegged among the best on record.

Tim Krul against Spurs, you ask? Tim Howard against Belgium?

Yeah, Tom Burnley against Manchester United was that good.

One save in particular stands out -- see another on Jesse Lingard above -- as Zlatan Ibrahimovic bashed a scissor kick at goal that Heaton somehow blocked with his arm.

The English goalkeeper needed medical attention after the save, and it wouldn’t have been surprising if a bone was broken.

Heaton thought so:

“I knew I had two men behind me on the line so I thought I’d get out, close the space and spread. Thankfully it has hit me but it nearly broke my arm!”

An on getting their first point at Old Trafford, Heaton said “what a place” to do it.
