He was asked in the post-game interview whether he’d have good news soon on a new contract.
“We are far away from that,” Salah said. “But I don’t want to put something in the media so people keep saying that.”

Salah’s contract has become a constant point of conversation for the player and his team, as come Wednesday he’ll be free to negotiate a contract with another team. Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold could all leave for free this summer, with the latter being publicly-linked with a big move to Real Madrid.
Salah keeps rewriting the Liverpool and Premier League record books, so here’s what he had to say on USA Network after the game.
Mohamed Salah reaction to Liverpool win at West Ham
“We managed to score the goals early and we dominated the game very well and that’s the most important thing.”
On his double nutmeg assist: “It’s quite similar to the Arsenal goal and I left the ball to Darwin. This one [Luis Diaz] was shouting to me and I knew I was offside. Clever play. I did not mean the first [nutmeg]. The first one no, the second one yes.”
On the way Liverpool are leading the table: “The only thing on my mind to be fair is for Liverpool to win the league and I want to be part of it. I will do my best to win the trophy. There are a few other very good teams trying to catch up. We have to stay focused and humble.”
“I’m just trying to enjoy the game. I was a little bit disappointed at a few shots that I missed today. I’m always hungry for more. Hopefully next one I will score more but I just want the team to win the game.”
