The New England Revolution have re-signed Teal Bunbury to a multi-year extension, via reports around the league and specifically from the club’s website.
Last spring, Teal Bunbury left Sporting Kansas City finally nearing the end of a major ACL injury that some believed would negatively impact the 24-year-old’s career.
However, after signing with the New England Revolution and playing a full season on Jay Heaps’ side, Bunbury tallied career-highs in assists (6), number of games (31 games played) and minutes played (2,446 minutes).
“I couldn’t be more excited at this point,” Bunbury said to MLSsoccer.com. “There’s always a little bit of uncertainty when you’re going into a contract year. You don’t know where you might end up, there’s different places that you might be looking at. I always wanted to stay here in New England.”

He demonstrated his prowess manning the wing, speedily bursting down the field and creating problems for opposing defenses when he attacked the net as both a playmaker and scorer.
In the MLS Cup against the LA Galaxy, Bunbury’s bold chip clanged off the crossbar in the 85th minute, a goal which would have given his squad a 2-1 lead at a critical stage in the match.
“We’re excited to bring Teal back this season,” Revolution general manager Michael Burns said in the statement. “Teal is a talented, young player who’s brought a dynamic element to our system, and we’re expecting him to continue being a key contributor on the field.”
