Former Atletico Madrid forward Mario Mandzukic landed in Turin to sign his contract and take his medical with Juventus on Sunday.
Days ago, Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri confirmed the Croatian--linked with Premier League icons Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea--would join the squad for next season.
He was reported to cost the Serie A champion $20.65 million (£13 million).
Mandzukic buried 20 goals in 43 matches with Atletico, and this move signals the third time in four years he will join a side straight after a Champions League final defeat, compared to his 2012 exit to Bayern and the move to Madrid last summer.
Excitement is aplenty for Mandzukic with the change of scenery, where the 29-year-old “annoyed” Diego Simeone.“I feel very good, the city is nice and I was here two or three times to play. It’s a nice city and I hope I will be happy here,” he said, via the club’s official website.
“I can only say that I will do my best. I will fight for my new team. I know Juventus have great supporters, that is why I am happy....It is now my new home and don’t worry, I will give my best.”
Juventus is likely hoping Mandzukic can replace Carlos Tevez, with speculation that the Argentine will head home to play for Boca Juniors before his contract expires in 2016.
If Tevez stays in Italy along with Liverpool link Fernando Llorente, Juventus will have an especially deep forward group, also boasting Real Madrid youth product Alvaro Morata and promising youngster Paulo Dybala.
