Ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal on Saturday (Watch live, 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC, online via Live Extra) Louis van Gaal has had a busy old day talking injuries.
To be fair, given the amount of players he has on the sidelines this season, he knows the drill by now.

After the confusion surrounding the severity of Daley Blind’s injury earlier on Thursday, van Gaal confirmed to United’s in-house TV station that Colombian striker Radamel Falcao will be out for at least another two weeks after suffering a new setback.
Falcao, 28, has been out of action for the Red Devils since Oct. 20 after suffering some discomfort in his left knee, the knee which tore his ACL in last season. However van Gaal told MUTV that Falcao has a new issue which will keep him out, as this new problem will take his total time out to over six weeks.
“His [Falcao] knee is stable but his calf is affecting his knee which is conversely impacting his calf. It’s very simple really.”

Below is the Tweet United send out regarding Falcao’s injury, as plenty of United fans will worry the man they have on a season-long loan from AS Monaco (with an option to buy for $60 million) will spend most of this season in the treatment room.

Falcao has scored one goal in five appearances for the Red Devils so far after being out for over six months with a ACL tear last season. That injury cost him a spot at the World Cup, while the spate of injuries he’s suffering this season could cost him a permanent transfer to United.

In other United injury news (because, well, there’s a lot these days at Old Trafford) Van Gaal also confirmed Luke Shaw will miss Saturday’s clash with Arsenal, but David De Gea and Angel Di Maria will be fit for the trip to the Emirates. Michael Carrick is being assessed but should be good to go, while Jonny Evans will play in a reserve game next Tuesday as he steps up his recovery.
