Luis Suarez put on a stunning display of attacking brilliance at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night to all but end Paris Saint-Germain’s hopes of advancing to the UEFA Champions League semifinals.

Suarez, 28, scored two superb solo goals in the second half to lead Barcelona to a 3-1 victory in Paris and take a commanding lead to the Nou Camp for the second leg.

Speaking to the media after the game about his audacious efforts, Suarez rubbed salt further into the wounds of PSG’s players, especially David Luiz, as he revealed he simply had no other option than to humiliate Luiz by nutmegging him on each goal he scored.

“A striker is always looking for goals and the two moves came off for me,” Suarez said. “I had to nutmeg Luiz twice because there was nothing else I could do.”

Below are quick clips of both of Suarez’s goals, with the first a mazy run from the right flank...

The second was the more obvious nutmeg of Luiz...

So, there you have it. Suarez has now scored 11 goals in his last 11 games for Barcelona and we are finally seeing exactly why they paid $128 million to Liverpool for his services last summer. Many wondered if Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar could play in the same team together. The answer to that question is quickly becoming a resounding “yes” as all three clicked in Paris on Wednesday to torment PSG’s depleted and banged up backline.

Yes, Luiz got humiliated but in his defense he had to limp off the bench after 20 minutes after previously being a huge injury doubt to make this match. He was replacing fellow countryman and center back Thiago Silva, PSG’s captain, who couldn’t stand up to the pace of Barca’s attack and Luiz had another day to forget at the back for Les Parisiens. Since his $50 million from Chelsea last summer, many have questioned Luiz defensive capabilities. He gave his doubters plenty of ammunition after Suarez ran rings around him and PSG’s other defenders.
