Leicester City has announced the signing of Swiss international Gokhan Inler from Italian club Napoli today.
The Foxes have already surprised many by starting the Premier League season with two wins from two matches, and now the club has added a top-quality midfielder to the side.

Inler is the captain of the Swiss national team, playing in the 2008 Euro Cup as well as the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. He has spent the past eight seasons playing in Serie A, first for Udinese before winning two Coppa Italia titles with Napoli.

The 31-year-old will look to replace Esteban Cambiasso in the center of the pitch for Leicester, as last season’s club player of the year left over the summer to play Champions League football with Greek side Olympiakos.

Inler has agreed to a three-year deal at the King Power Stadium, for an undisclosed fee.

Many people questioned the hiring of Claudio Ranieri as the new Leicester boss this summer, but he has the Foxes off to a flying start, winning both of their Premier League matches and scoring six goals in the process.

Having won trophies and competing in the Champions League in Italy, as well as captaining his nation in a World Cup, Inler’s experience will be massive for Leicester as the club continues to trend upwards in the Premier League.
