Juve’s Dybala to miss Argentina World Cup qualifiers through injury

Paulo Dybala has been ruled out of Argentina’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers, unable to recover from a calf injury suffered while playing for Juventus.

The 22-year-old striker flew to Argentina to meet up with the team, but was then ruled out by coach Gerardo Martino.

After finishing second at the 2014 World Cup, La Albiceleste have gotten off to a slow start in their qualifiers for 2018 in Russia.

Argentina took just five points from their first four matches and currently sit sixth on the CONMEBOL table, outside of the qualification zone.

Lionel Messi & Co. face Chile and Bolivia over this international break.

Dybala has been in stellar form for Juventus this season, leading the team with 18 goals in all competitions. His form earned him his first call-up to the Argentina senior side in the fall, earning three caps.
