Jesé Rodríguez has undergone successful surgery, according to Real Madrid, with the 21-year-old having the anterior cruciate and lateral meniscus ligaments in his right knee repaired on Wednesday. The operation was performed in Augsburg, Germany, with the attacking prospect set to return to Madrid upon discharge.
The injury occurred on Tuesday when, early in El Real’s UEFA Champions League match with Schalke, Jesé had to be substituted after a tackle deep in his team’s attacking half. Gareth Bale came on and assisted on two Real Madrid goals in the Merengues 3-1 win.
After the match, the club revealed their Spanish U-international had suffered a complete tear of his right ACL, an injury that will sideline him for at least the rest of the season.

Jesé Rodriguez was admitted to the Hessingpark-Clinic in Augsburg by Dr. Ulrich Boenisch and under the supervision of the Sanitas Medical Services-Real Madrid doctors Jesús Olmo and Francisco Morate.
The surgery, which was carried out satisfactorily, consisted of repairing the anterior cruciate ligament and damaged lateral meniscal in the player’s right knee. The player will return to Madrid once he is discharged, which is expected to happen in the next few days.
