Sevilla striker Iago Aspas scored an incredible hat-trick in under four minutes during today’s demolition of Spanish Second Division side, Sabadell.
The Liverpool loanee’s first strike came in the 59th minute and by the 63rd, he had his hat-trick on the way to helping Sevilla to a 5-1 win in the Spanish Copa Del Rey. The feat bettered that of Robbie Fowler, who in 1994 nailed a hat-trick in four minutes 33 seconds, a record that stands today as the fastest Barclays Premier League hat-trick ever.
It’s performances like this that will make Liverpool fans glad he’s on a loan deal. But even considering the current striker situation it’s hard to see a guy like Aspas making a real at Anfield when similar skilled forwards like Fabio Borini have a tough time getting a game.
